Celebrate Easter with this handmade Easter Egg Banner. The Silhouette Cameo makes this an easy DIY craft tutorial idea for Spring.
I love this banner! It turned out so cute and was super simple to make because I used my fancy new Silhouette Cameo.
How to Make an Easter Egg Banner with the Silhouette Cameo
The software is actually very easy to use and I created my template in about 5 minutes.
First I cut out 9 green flags.
Then I cut 2 eggs out of 9 different scrapbook papers.
I am already getting excited about how this is going to look!
I scored the top of all the flags 1/2 inch in so I can fold them back over the ribbon when I assemble the banner.
To give the edges some depth I drug the side of the shapes along an ink pad.
Can you see the difference?
I did that to all the eggs and the flags.
Then I scored through the center of one of the matching eggs so I could fold them in half.
Use a hot glue gun and put a thin strip of glue along the fold of the first egg shape and adhere to the center of the unfolded egg.
The eggs look cute all by themselves!
Glue the eggs onto the front of the flag (oops forgot to take a picture).
To evenly space the flags on the ribbon I used a ruler and spaced them 2 1/2 inches apart.
Hot glued the ribbon down
and folded the scored flap over the ribbon
For the ends, I folded the end over and glued it to the end of the flag
Tied a ribbon with a separate piece of ribbon and glued it to the front of the loop.
I have a nice big entry way dividing my kitchen/dining room from the living room and I decided to hang the banner there.
