Cute Candy Jack O'Lantern Halloween Treat perfect for friends, teacher gifts, and Halloween parties. An easy DIY craft tutorial idea made with Sixlets.
It is Halloween time again! This is one of my favorite holidays. I just love the mix of fun and spooky.
Today I am going to show you how I made these fun little Candy Jack O'Lantern Halloween Treats. I made these for my co-workers and for my kids' teachers. I love giving small gifts, it is my way of saying that I appreciate them and all that they do.
Supplies Used: Links are for similar items found online.
- Round Plastic Craft Bottles
- Acrylic Paint
- Orange Sixlets
- Black Vinyl
- Wiggle Eyes
- Orange Ribbon
I found these perfect round containers at my local Hobby Lobby. They are just the right size, and they have a screw on top.
How to Make a Candy Jack O'Lantern Halloween Treat
For the first step I removed the screw tops. They were a clear/white, but I wanted them to look like pumpkin stems. So I got out some of my acrylic paint and painted all of the tops a light brown color.
But I just didn't love the brown. It was too brown and didn't look like a pumpkin stem at all. So I dug through my acrylic paints again and found a green and painted that over the top and that looked much better.
I filled the jars with the orange Sixlets, and while they were cute, they didn't look very pumpkin like to me.
In with all of my Big Shot dies I found this Build A Bear Die called Kooky Spooky that has a Jack O'Lantern face. I cut small squares of black vinyl and ran it through the big shot to get my perfect mouth and faces. Since I love Googly Eyes I added those to add a bit more fun.
With that cute face, everyone can see that he is a Jack O'Lantern!
I added a ribbon and tied a bow to finish him off right. Isn't he so cute?
