Tips for the Best Flavor

  • Don't overcook the pasta-keeping it al dente helps it hold up better in the sauce
  • Stir the cheese sauce while it heats so it stays smooth and creamy
  • Adjust the spice by choosing mild or hot Rotel based on your preference

How to Store Leftovers

If you have leftovers, they store well and reheat easily.

  • Place in an airtight container
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days

Reheating

Reheat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each round until warmed through.

Final Thoughts

This Velveeta shells and cheese recipe is one of those easy meals that always works.

It's quick enough for a busy day, comforting like classic macaroni and cheese, and just a little different thanks to the added spice.

Whether you serve it as a side or a quick lunch, it's a simple way to get something warm and satisfying on the table.

You can also adjust the spice levels by using different Rotel flavors. If you like a milder spice, try the Rotel Mild.

I make this too; however, I don't drain the Rotel & I slice Beef Smoked Sausage. It's a complete meal & a family favorite.
