Everyone loves delicious Rice Crispy Treats! Learn how to make rice crispy treats with marshmallows with this easy recipe.
Do you have a favorite homemade dessert or treat? Mine, by far, is Rice Crispy Treats! I could eat a whole pan if no one is watching. They are super easy to make and taste AMAZING!! That is if they are made right.
My husband has called me a Crispy Treat Snob before, but rock hard, dry rice crispy treat is just not good. I also don't like them when they are overly sticky and greasy.
Today I am sharing with you my very favorite Rice Crispy Treat Recipe that comes out perfect every single time.
Easy Rice Crispy Treats Recipe
Ingredients:
- ½ Cup Butter
- 4 Cups Mini Marshmallows
- 5 Cups Crisp Rice Cereal
Instructions:
- Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until melted and well-blended.
- Cook 2 minutes longer, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
Here are the different stages of cooking and melting the marshmallows.
Add the cereal and stir until well coated.
Use a buttered spatula or waxed paper to press the mixture evenly and firmly into a buttered 13 x 9-inch pan.
Cut into 2 x 2-inch squares when cool.

Mmmmm! One of my favorite snacks 🙂 I admit though, mine don't always turn out the greatest. They're often too hard. I think it's because I don't melt my marshmallows & butter on low...do you think that's where I'm going wrong?! I'm going to have to make some today, or else I won't be able to stop thinking about this post. 🙂 HA!!! - Julie

I always find that recipes for Rice Krispie squares are too gooey and I have to keep adding more rice krispies. Then you worry you're going to add too much. Glad to have a perfect recipe. Thanks for sharing at our party this week.

I love krispie treats! Yes, melting the marshmallows on low is key! You know for years I would quickly melt it all on high and then wonder why the treats were hard in a day and had to be thrown away. Seriously. I some mini marshmallows in my pantry. I think I will try your recipe! Also love the tip about the buttered spatula!!

I have not had nor made rice crispy treats in forever. But I do know that when I do they never come out right. My mom makes them so good. Maybe next time she visits I will ask her to make me some!

Simple and delicious!
When I put the mix into the buttered pan, I wet my hands and spatula slightly and nothing sticks! I leave the faucet running a small trickle of water while I do it so I can re-wet my hands if necessary.
