- ½ cup Unsalted Butter
- 4 cups of Mini Marshmallows
- 5 cups Crispy Rice Cereal
- Cooking Spray
Stir constantly until the marshmallows have completely melted.
Continue to stir and cook 2 minutes longer, then remove from heat.
Add the Rice Krispie cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir until well coated.
Grease a cake pan with some cooking spray.
I used a 9x13 inch pan, but you can use just about any size. The smaller the pan, the thicker the bars will be.
Spoon the cereal mixture into the greased cake pan.
Spray the back of a rubber spatula with cooking spray, then use the spatula to press the mixture into the pan.
By spraying the spatula, the treat mixture wont stick to it.
Then let the Rice Krispie Treats cool completely.
This can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.
One the treats have set a bit, turn the cake pan upside and empty the large treat by tapping the bak of the pan.
Use a large knife to cut into bars.
I prefer larger bars because I love rice crispy treats and want to eat more in one serving. 😂
Store treats in an airtight container or bag. at room temperature, for up to 5 days.
Final Thoughts:
Crispy Rice Treats are some of my favorite desserts and I really do make this recipe often.
These treat bars are perfect for a night in or bring them to a Pot Luck to share.
I live at high elevation, almost 5000 feet above sea level, and this can effect baking. However, if you want crunchier bars remove some butter, or if you want gooier bars add a bit of butter.

Notes
Our Baking Essential List:
- For baking casseroles, we use Glass Baking Dishes. I especially like the dishes with lids so leftovers can be transferred straight to the fridge.
- Silicone Kitchenware is my favorite because they don't scratch my cookware and is easy to clean!
- A Glass Cutting Board is a must to prepare all of those ingredients. We even keep ours on our counter at all times.
- This Knife Set will also become your favorite! They cut beautifully, and with the hollow design of the knife, food doesn't stick to the blade.

Mmmmm! One of my favorite snacks 🙂 I admit though, mine don't always turn out the greatest. They're often too hard. I think it's because I don't melt my marshmallows & butter on low...do you think that's where I'm going wrong?! I'm going to have to make some today, or else I won't be able to stop thinking about this post. 🙂 HA!!! - Julie

I always find that recipes for Rice Krispie squares are too gooey and I have to keep adding more rice krispies. Then you worry you're going to add too much. Glad to have a perfect recipe. Thanks for sharing at our party this week.

I love krispie treats! Yes, melting the marshmallows on low is key! You know for years I would quickly melt it all on high and then wonder why the treats were hard in a day and had to be thrown away. Seriously. I some mini marshmallows in my pantry. I think I will try your recipe! Also love the tip about the buttered spatula!!

Simple and delicious!
When I put the mix into the buttered pan, I wet my hands and spatula slightly and nothing sticks! I leave the faucet running a small trickle of water while I do it so I can re-wet my hands if necessary.
