You know I just love creating recipes using M&M's®. This past weekend I wanted to make a Snack for our movie night and I grabbed all of my favorite snacks and put them together to make this delicious Double Chocolate Sweet and Salty Party Mix. Since we were watching Harry Potter I told my husband it was called "Cure for a Dementors Kiss" since you need chocolate to recover from it. He got a good laugh at that.
This sweet and salty snack mix is so easy to make. You can have this yummy treat ready to go within minutes for you to enjoy with your movie.
Now let me show you how easy it is to make the "Cure for the Dementors Kiss"!
Double Chocolate Sweet and Salty Snack Mix Recipe - or Cure for the Dementors Kiss (whichever you prefer)
Ingredients Needed:
- M&M's® – 1 cups of your favorite kind of M&M's
- 5 Cups of popped Popcorn – 1 to 2 bags of popcorn should be enough
- 1 cups of your favorite nuts (I used cashews)
- 1 cup of pretzels (I used pretzel squares)
- 1 cup of caramel bits
- 1 cup of Chocolate Chips
In a big bowl mix together the popped popcorn, M&M’s®, nuts, pretzels and caramel bits.
Stir together and spread out onto a cookie sheet.
Melt your chocolate chips. I do this by putting them in a microwave safe bowl on high for 30 seconds. Stir and cook for another 30 seconds. Repeat until the chocolate is all melted. I usually only have to cook 3 times at 30 seconds each. Once the chocolate is melted drizzle over your snack mix.
Let cool. If you just can't wait and you need to have it ready quick for movie night then pop in the freezer for 5 minutes so the chocolate is all set.
We really liked this recipe and my husband has asked me to make it again.

This looks so delicious! I would hope I could even get it made without eating all of the different ingredients before it is done. My boys would think they'd died and gone to heaven if I made this for a movie night. Yummy!
