How To Store Leftovers

In the Fridge

Let the casserole cool completely, then transfer it to an airtight container or cover the casserole dish tightly.

Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Tip: If you know you'll be reheating individual servings, portioning them out now makes life easier later.

In the Freezer

Cool the casserole completely before freezing.

Place portions in freezer-safe containers or wrap tightly with plastic wrap and foil.

Store in the freezer for up to 2 months for the best texture and flavor.

Tip: The sauce holds up well, but nuggets soften slightly. Still tasty, just less crispy.

Reheating Tips

Microwave - Best for Single Servings

  • Place a portion on a microwave-safe plate.
  • Cover loosely to prevent splatters.
  • Heat in 60-90 second intervals, stirring if possible, until heated through.

Oven - Best for Larger Portions

  • Preheat oven to 350º F.
  • Place leftovers in an oven-safe dish and cover with foil.
  • Heat for 15-20 minutes, or until warmed through.
  • Remove foil for the last few minutes if you want the top bubbly again

From Frozen

  • Thaw overnight in the fridge when possible.
  • Reheat using the oven method above.
  • If reheating directly from the freezer, cover tightly and add extra time. Check often.
