Make pizza roll-ups in just 15 minutes. These quick, cheesy bites are perfect for snacks, lunch, or an easy dinner the whole family will love.

Plate of baked pizza roll ups filled with sauce and melted cheese, topped with seasoning and served with marinara on the side.

When the day gets busy, this is one of those recipes I come back to again and again.

They're simple, fast, and always a hit with kids and adults.

I've made these for everything from quick weeknight dinners to game day snacks, and they disappear every time.

They may not look perfectly shaped, but once they come out golden brown with melty cheese, nobody cares.

Ingredients

See the recipe card below for measurements and instructions.

  • Pizza Crust or Pizza Dough
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Pepperoni
  • Mozarella Cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • Butter
  • Garlic Powder
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Parmesan Cheese
Ingredients for pizza roll ups including pizza sauce, shredded cheese, pepperoni, pizza crust, butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning on a table.

If you have time, homemade pizza dough and pizza sauce add great flavor.

But for busy nights, store-bought ingredients work perfectly and keep this recipe quick.

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

  • 1 Pizza Crust
  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce
  • 2 cups Cheese shredded
  • ½ cup Pepperoni cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese grated

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet if needed.
  • Lay the dough out on a counter, and roll the dough out using a rolling pin. Then use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into squares by slicing lengthwise and then vertically. You should get about 15 squares.
  • Add a small spoonful of sauce to the center of each square and sprinkle shredded cheese over the sauce.
  • Roll the dough locking the ingredinets inside. You can seal the edges, or leave open. (I leave them open becuase I like the baked crispy cheese that happens while baking them)
  • In a small bowl, melt the butter, then stir in Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and grated parmesan cheese. Brush the butter mixture over the tops of the pizza roll ups.
  • Place the rolls on the baking sheet and bake for 12 to 14 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly, then serve and enjoy.

Why This Recipe Works

One of the best things about these pepperoni pizza roll-ups is their flexibility.

You can easily switch up the cheese. Mozzarella cheese is the classic choice, but using cheddar adds a richer flavor that's just as good.

Another little trick-don't worry about sealing the edges. As they bake, the cheese melts and spreads onto the baking sheet, creating those crispy, golden edges. Those crunchy bits are usually the first thing everyone grabs.

How to Store Leftovers

If you end up with leftovers (which does not always happen 😄), these pizza roll-ups store well and reheat easily.

In the Fridge

Let the pizza roll-ups cool to room temperature.

Place them in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

In the Freezer

Let the pizza roll-ups cool completely, then place them in a freezer-safe bag or container.

Store in the freezer for up to 2 months.

For best results, thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.

Reheating Tips

Microwave

Place pizza roll-ups on a microwave-safe plate and heat in 20 to 30-second intervals until warmed through.

Oven

Place pizza roll-ups on a baking sheet and heat at 325°F until warm, and the edges are crisp again.

From Frozen

For the best texture, thaw overnight in the fridge first.

If reheating straight from frozen, bake at 325°F until heated through.

What a great idea! I saw this post on Mix It Up Monday! These would be so much fun to get the kids involved with cooking too! My kiddos always ask to help with the cooking! We will totally be making these!

Do you find these to be less expensive than the frozen pizza snack bites youcan buy? I hate to spend the money on those.

Hi Charlotte! This post comes from my contributor Mistie, and this is her answer to your question.

Totino's pizza rolls are around $4 for 40 rolls may be cheaper. Although, one of these rolls comes out about 2-3 times the size of a store pizza roll. Additionally, I prefer to make things from scratch so I know more about what goes into the meal from the ingredients. It does work out a bit cheaper for me as I make my own spaghetti sauce from my garden and use my herbs for the seasoning. So I paid for cheese and crescent rolls basically. Wow... Sorry, that was long. 🙂 Hope it helps!
