Have you ever thought to grill pizza? A few years back I never considered to put a pizza on the grill, but once you try it there is no turning back! Besides, with summer here who wants to crank up their oven on high heat?! I live in Texas and that is something you try to avoid in the hot, hot summer months. Without a doubt, grilling is my favorite way to cook pizza and I have an easy tutorial on how to grill pizza to start your summer off right! I know you are ready for the tutorial, so let's get grilling!

First, you want to start out with fresh pizza dough and if you don't have a recipe no worries, click here for my 10 minute pizza dough recipe! Next, preheat your grill on medium high heat. Once you have rolled out your pizza dough, place it on a piece of foil. I find working with small pizzas work better for me than working with a huge 16 inch pizza. I use approximately 10 inch pizzas when creating homemade grilled pizza.
Next, place pizza dough on the grill and cook for about 3-5 minutes. This stabilizes the crust for toppings and also gives a more evenly cooked crust. Then remove the dough off the grill and flip the dough over; keep it on the foil. Brush the pre-baked pizza dough with olive oil. Now you may top your pizza with sauce, cheese, and a variety of yummy toppings! Don't be afraid to get creative 🙂 On my grilled pizza I chose turkey pepperoni, sauteed chopped spinach, sauteed chopped mushrooms, sauteed chopped red bell peppers, black olives, and fresh pineapple pieces. Place the pizza back on the grill and cover the lid. It doesn't take long, so stay close to the grill and check on the pizza often. Once the crust is stable remove the foil and cook the pizza directly over the grill rack. Using a flat stainless steel grill spatula is helpful when removing the foil. When the crust is done to your liking remove pizza from the grill with tongs and onto a cutting board!
If you never have made grill pizza, you are in for a real treat! Go ahead take a piece, I don't mind sharing the love 😉

I'd love to give grilled pizza a try. Your recipes are wonderful! My family has been loving them!! It's nice to have variety in our meals...lol (I tend to get in a rut with things that are easy and I like). Throughout the summer, I mainly grill so this is going to be perfect. Thanks so much!!
