A Pink Shabby Chic Accent Wall

I can fully admit I have a serious problem finishing a project before moving on to the next. Well today it has landed me here, painting a Shabby Chic Accent Wall for my daughter's room. This all started when I painted my son's chalkboard wall {here} and well... she wanted a colored wall too! As I've mentioned before, my kids rooms are unfarily large, but it sure does make for fun decorating! I can't wait to show you what I'm going to do with this space, but for now, let's just look at the pretty wall!

There is still a lot of work to be done to this room. I think I've shared with you  before my hatred of this color this house was painted before we bought it. It's this awful peach tan color. But the worst part is they painted the ceiling this color. I am a HUGE fan of white ceilings, not only aesthically, but as a blogger photographing a room with a tan ceiling makes for HORRID lighting. So bear with me on the pictures... natural light upstairs is hard to come by already with the huge maple tree right outside the windows!

If you follow me on instagram you know that I painted this wall waiting for my kitchen cabinet doors to dry... well I was able to do that because this was a quick project! One of the ways I like to cut down on my painting time is to tape it all off first. I know sometimes it seems like it actually takes longer, but you can come tape, leave, come back, tape some more... you can't do that with paint. Unless of couse you like washing your brushes out as a whole new hobby! haha and if that's the case, you are welcome to come over anytime ; ) Ok, let's get some supplise together!

Supplies: 

- Textured Surface by FrogTape

- Paint (I used Sherwin' Williams Impatiens Petal)

- Paint Brush and Roller

Tutorial: 

First, let's tape it off. Grab your FrogTape® for Textured Surface (if your walls are textured) and complete this step as it's convenient for you, but make sure you get it on there straight! Once you are ready to paint, follow the manufacturer's instructions on applying the liquid PaintBlock® sealer. This is what helps give you those straight lines when dealing with texture! FrogTape® is treated with patented PaintBlock® Technology, that is a super absorbent polymer that reacts with the water in latex paint and instantly gells to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, preventing paint bleed. You will love it, I promise! It's pretty amazing!

Once that is applied you can paint all around the edges where your roller won't reach. Once you are done with this, go ahead and remove the tape. You should always remove tape while the paint is still wet!

Then admire your perfect lines before you start your rolling! : ) Seriously best painter's tape EVER.

Once you are done rolling, just do any touch ups necessary! Let the paint dry and enjoy!
