This coffee filter snowman craft is a simple winter activity for kids using basic supplies and lots of creativity.

If you are looking for a fun winter craft, this coffee filter snowman project is one your kids will love.
It is simple to make, uses easy-to-find supplies, and is perfect for little hands.
This project works great for parents, teachers, or anyone planning a seasonal craft day.
The finished coffee filter snowman is cute enough to put on display and fun enough to make again and again.
Skill Level: Beginner
Total Time: 15 minutes
Supply List
- Empty Fabric Bolt
- 3 Coffee Filters
- Elmer's Glue
- Kids Scissors
- Scrap Paper

You can request free empty bolts from your preferred fabric store or use cut cardboard strips from boxes.
Instructions
Begin with two coffee filters, fold them in half, then in half again, until you are left with a pie shape.
Trim off about 1 inch from the rounded edge to make a smaller circle.
Repeat with the second, cutting off about 1.5 inches to create a smaller circle.
Keep one filter at its original size, so you'll have 3 circles of different sizes. The smallest will be the head.
Let the child glue the circles onto the cardboard bolt. The coffee filters can tear easily, so they may need some help.

Cut out a few circles for the buttons, a triangle for the nose, more circles for the eyes, and then I just eyeballed the hat.

For the arms, I had the kids cut strips of construction paper and then glue them together. This was definitely their favorite part!
Apply glue to the backs of the cut paper pieces, add them to the snowman, and the project is complete!

I also folded some coffee filters into long rectangles to cover the writing on the fabric bolts, but that is completely optional.

Very cute! I pinned it as a craft to do with my grandchildren. If you don't mind another suggestion to eliminate cutting of the snowman body parts ; is to use two different size coffee filters instead (they come in small and large) plus use a large cupcake liner for the head and mount the snowman on a piece of poster board or similar. (All four supplies are usually carried by $-Stores.) ☺ -Brenda-

P.S: I also plan to do some Angels and will use mini loaf liners for the wings as one fold will also make them 3-D.
