We've been slowly working on updating our Utah house. We started with our Master Bedroom, Mudroom, Laundry Room, some small kitchen updates and now I'm finally ready to reveal our Modern Farmhouse Bathroom! I'm absolutely thrilled to have teamed up with Bed Bath & Beyond to complete this transformation and can't wait to show you the before and after! Bear with me on the photos... this tiny little space wasn't easy to photograph in any way! As a reminder this is what we started off with:
The flooring was a brown sheet vinyl, the cabinet was builder grade with no hardware and it was just about as plain as you could get! I originally thought about painting the cabinet and maybe painting the vinyl like I did in our laundry room, but I really wanted this to be a clean and simple bathroom. Right now it's our kids' bathroom but they will be moving down to our basement once it's finished and this will become our guest bathroom. My biggest reason for wanting to not paint this vanity was because I fell in love with this one from Bed Bath & Beyond. Enough talking though... here's how it turned out. 🙂
Isn't that vanity just the most gorgeous thing ever? Spoiler alert, the top drawer is a tilt out for toothbrushes! My kids might actually cry about leaving it, haha!
As you can see we also decided to shiplap the walls, something I have been wanting to do for a while! We added a new tilting mirror that just so happened to come in handy considering the shiplap stopped right behind it!
Overall I wanted this to be a very clean feel so I stuck with my favorite colors for most of it... black and white. We found this light fixture that worked beautifully above the mirror. It's a rather small space, so I planned on incorporating clear glass that would illuminate the space rather than point the light down.
The faucet might be my absolute favorite part of this whole bathroom though (it's so hard to choose)! I'm thrilled with how far it comes out from the back edge of the sink and isn't she just gorgeous?? All the heart eyes for that faucet!
Opposite the wall with the vanity I added some hooks for our towels. In the debate of towel bar vs. hooks, I'm definitely a hooks kinda girl! My kids just can't seem to keep the towels on a bar. As an added bonus you don't have to fold them just right to get them to look pretty. Just throw them up there and they look perfectly staged! Don't go sharing all my life secrets now ; )
The one thing I didn't do was tile the shower. I desperately wanted to, however the tub and shower walls were one full unit and that was completely out of our budget. We decided to add a pretty shower curtain rod, hooks and a shower curtain to keep closed so you don't even know what's back there! More of my life secrets!
We did however decided to go ahead and tile the floor. As we continue to upgrade our house we really want to add a level of luxury so tile seemed like a natural choice. It's also quite affordable for such a small space if you install it yourself! If you've never done it before you can totally find classes at local hardware stores. It's not as hard as you think, I promise!
I wanted a concrete look so we ended up going with this tile from Floor & Decor. It's about as close as I can get without actually having real concrete floors!
Now just a few more pretty pictures!
I hope you love this little space as much as I do! It feels so clean when you walk in now and provides a much more open vibe that I desperately wanted in this Modern Farmhouse bathroom!

How interesting... We are redoing our hallway bath that is the same layout and size of yours. LOVE everything you have done to yours. The vanity is gorgeous!!! I will try to post a pic once it is done? What type of flooring did you use? I was thing of tiles that look like wood. We are also redoing 2 other bathrooms and want to use the same flooring in them. Was it expensive or moderately priced? I, too, thought about tiling our tub but have not seen any tub unit tiled. What were you thinking of using? A zillion ?s. Thank you for sharing your Gorgeous bathroom!!!

Where did you get the faux lavender plant that's sitting on the top of the toilet lid?

Disappointed to see that the vanity is an alder veneer. I think I'll keep my solid wood vanity and repainted it.

Beautiful! What color did you paint the walls above the shiplap?
Katie
Hi Angi, Aww you are so sweet! Thanks so much! So the color for this particular bathroom was from the builder. I had it color matched to Bahaus Buff from Sherwin Williams. The other bathroom is Sherwin Williams Simple White! Let me know if you have any other questions and I'd love to see your bathrooms when you are finished! 🙂

Simply gorgeous! Where are your bath towels from?

Bahaus Buff from Sherwin Williams? Really? It looks like a soft grey in the photo. But, thank you for sharing the color name with us! Picking wall colors is probably the hardest part of a reno!
