It's laundry room reveal day, YAY!! I've been sharing sneak peeks on Instagram stories for a while now and I've finally finished this space! I seriously couldn't be happier with the outcome!!
We started out with just a plain, no storage at all laundry room. It was nothing to get excited about, it lacked any sense of organization, and seriously... if we have to do laundry it might as well be in a pretty space right?? Here's a reminder of what it looked like before... (You can see my design plans here)
We added cabinets above the washer and dryer, along with a shelf for easy access to every day use items! The shelf was also built to disguise the water connections as much as I could while still keeping them accessible.
This is essentially the same shelf we put in our last laundry room, and I've had so many requests for that tutorial, so I will be sharing it with you very soon, I promise. But let's talk about my favorite part of this whole Modern Farmhouse Laundry Room - the floor (get the tutorial here)!
As I'm sure you've seen on Pinterest and pretty much every where else... this concrete style tile is the new trend! I really didn't want to rip up the subfloor in our laundry room so I decided to paint our existing floor!! That's right, this floor has been painted! I worked with an amazing company, Wagner, to get the best possible finish... get the tutorial here!! But doesn't it just make this whole space so much more fun??? I'm kind of obsessed!
Can we also stop and talk about these amazing Turkish towels for a second? I found them at Bed Bath & Beyond and they are the cutest towels I think I've ever seen! You can also double their use as a throw, and they are so soft too!
The cabinets we ended up purchasing from Home Depot. They are Home Depot's stock unfinished cabinets, and luckily just so happened to match my existing lower cabinet. I think they are slightly different, but you probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't say anything ; ) At least that's what I'm telling myself cause normally those little things like that bother me!
We also added some black modern handles to the cabinets I found on Amazon to complete the look.
Now let's take a look at the other side of the laundry room. Did I mention I felt like I was practicing to be a contortionist to get these pictures. It's not a huge laundry room and I don't have the right camera lens. I'm sure if anyone would have seen me they would have laughed their butts off cause it was quite hilarious!
All that's really over there is our laundry sorter, which is a must have for those of us who aren't naturally organized, aka my whole family! Of course I needed some industrial pipe in here for our hanging clothes.
That super cute shirt is from my sister's clothing boutique, Poppy Avenue Boutique. They always have the best graphic tees!
The little gray basket on the counter is for our delicates. I absolutely hate it when I accidentally throw them in with the regular wash, so I wanted to separate them completely so I didn't throw it in the wrong bin by mistake.
That's our new Modern Farmhouse Laundry Room. I hope you enjoyed this little tour! Now I'm off to catch up on all the laundry I wasn't doing while finishing up this space! Wish me luck, haha!!

I officially have laundry room envy! It's gorgeous Ashley! You'd never know those cabinets weren't identical! Also, I hate ripping out stuff that's perfectly fine, so I admire your painted floor all the more!

Ashley! That floor is just amazing!!!!!!! I need to read about how you did it. I've been thinking about painting our foyer tile for, oh, seven years. We keep talking about ripping it out and replacing it, but it always gets cut from the old budget. I LOVE how your floor came and you are totally inspiring me to do something like this instead! Thanks for sharing, and PS, your photography of this space is fantastic!

Love the laundry room! I recently painted my laundry room white and painted all the cabinetry gray, and added a shelf as well. I even have glass containers on the shelf but they store dog treats, as my white lab Lucy "helps" me with the laundry by carrying one of my hubby's socks to the laundry. She comes to get a treat every time I start the washer now whether she has actually helped me or not!
I just ordered two of the Turkish Towels from Bed Bath & Beyond with a gift card I had been saving. Thanks for sharing this post.
Enjoy your new laundry room!

I LOVE this! Your laundry room is gorgeous, and that floor - can't believe it's painted! We are doing a laundry renovation, too, so this was very timely. Great job!

Ashley, this is just beautiful! Your layout is so similar to my laundry room, and we have also added cabinets & a shelf, as well as some iron pipe for hanging clothes right out of the dryer. We used an elbow with a 12" nipple (pipe), so I could swing the rod out of the way/up against the wall when not in use, but it can hold a whole bunch of hanging items when it's open. My question to you is... How did you handle the transition from your floor to the hallway flooring? We had our house built two years ago, and put in hardwood floors ourselves. The laundry room still has the builder-grade vinyl floors. I love the idea of painting the floor - I have painted vinyl flooring in past houses with long-lasting success, and I love the look of encaustic tiles, but not the expense (although I see Home Depot is selling porcelain time with the look of encaustic, now). I just can't find a transition strip or reducer that will go from the height of the hardwood to the vinyl. Any help in this area would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Sarah, I'm still working on the shelf tutorial. I can't seem to get that finished, lol! However the paint color is Behr's Mined Coal.

Our first laundry room was quite basic and had no storage at all. There was nothing particularly noteworthy about it, and it was disorganized. Besides, if we're going to do laundry, might as well do it in a nice place? See: https://hamiltonpainter.co.nz
