Create a ribbon headband with this easy guide. This ribbon headband DIY is a simple way to make a cute accessory for everyday wear or a quick gift.

This is one of those projects that comes together fast but still looks like you put in effort.
If you've ever needed something to pull an outfit together at the last minute, this is a great option.
It's also a great beginner project. Even if you're new to DIY or don't have many supplies, you can still make something that looks polished and fun.

Supply List
- Headband
- ⅜" Ribbon (you can adjust the width depending on the look you want)
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun

Wrap Ribbon
Start at one end of the inside of the headband.
- Press the end of the ribbon into place
- Add a small dot of hot glue

Begin wrapping the ribbon around the headband, slightly overlapping as you go, so the base doesn't show through.
As you wrap:
- Add small dots of glue every few inches to keep it secure
- Keep the ribbon pulled tight so it lies smoothly
Continue wrapping until you reach the other end, then secure the ribbon with another small dot of glue and trim any extra.

You can leave your headband as is, or add a bow for a little extra detail.
Make a Ribbon Bow (optional)
Cut two strips of ribbon:
- One about 3 inches long
- One about 1 inch long
Take the longer strip and form it into a loop by gluing the ends together.
Next, wrap the shorter strip around the center of the loop and secure it with glue.
Attach the finished bow to the top of the headband with a small dot of glue.

A Few Helpful Tips
- Thinner ribbon is easier to wrap, but wider ribbon can create a bolder look
- Keep your wraps close together for full coverage
- If you prefer sewing, you could secure the ends with a few stitches and a tapestry needle instead of glue
Final Thoughts
This ribbon headband is quick, simple, and easy to customize. Once you make one, it's hard not to make a few more in different colors to match different outfits.
Headbands like this are great for everyday wear, gifts, or even just a fun little project when you want something creative but low effort.
