Can you believe 4th of July is almost here? This year is already flying by too fast! Well, to slow things down a bit I have a fun way for you to savor your grilled summer hot dogs, because today I am sharing a tutorial on how to Spiral Cut Hot Dogs. These unique hot dogs are a fun way to present the original hot dog and dress up your traditional cook out menu. I also have 12 Summer BBQ Must Haves for you as part of this month's Blog Hop, so be sure and check those out at the bottom of the post! Now, let's get grilling!

First fire up your grill and soak the wooden skewers for at least 10 minutes. Then secure a hot dog in your hand and insert a skewer in the middle. If your skewer pokes through a side, it is ok, just start over. Hot dogs are very forgiving 😉 Once the skewer is inserted in the hot dog, place it on a cutting board. With a sharp knife make a continuous slit as you rotate the skewer with the other hand in the direction away from you. Work your way down the entire hot dog as you continue to rotate the skewer. Repeat this process with the other hot dogs and place them on a hot grill. Grill to your liking and enjoy!
Leaving the hot dogs on the skewers keeps them secure and allows them to cook evenly. I have tried to take the hot dogs off the skewers and grill them and it does work, however I found it much easier and more presentable on a wooden skewer. These Spiral Cut Hot Dogs are sure to be a hit at any out door gathering!
