Today I am going to share my Pom Pom Ribbon Christmas Tree with you as part of a blog hop sponsored by

=Usually for Christmas I try to go with a traditional "pretty" aka don't-touch-that-tree- look.
This year my kids have really taken to crafting along with me so I wanted to make it super fun for them!
I decided I would go with more of a whimsical cartoon-y look!
I have to say I am having so much fun with it!
Before we get started, let's talk about where I got this fabulous pom pom ribbon!
The Ribbon Jar is proud to offer 1,200 of the most delicious ribbons you’ll find anywhere. In addition we’ve started carrying a special selection of notions to help in your crafting adventures. From velvets, jacquards and ric-rac to specialty trims our goal has always been to make quality ribbon and trim available by the yard to every day crafters. We continue to offer Special Collections in jars and for more economical shipping our curated collections are available as ribbon packs. We're so excited to have Ashley participating in our blog hop and can't wait to see her creative use of our ribbon!
So here is what I used to make fun fun little tree
{Supplies}
-3 yards of each pom pom trim in red, aqua, and apple green - all in 10 mm
(you might want to get a tad extra because I cut it kinda close)
- a piece of white 12x12" card stock
- glue gun
I decided to go with the pom pom ribbon trim for a few reasons.
One. I just absolutely adore pom poms : ) and Two. It just felt like "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"
and that is exactly what I was going for!
I also got the metallic sand ric rac for a little something extra in my holiday decor.
I just wrapped that around some wooden spools and it.is. SO FUN!
{Tutorial}
So this is really easy to make, I promise!
The hardest part is making the cone!
First.
take your 12x12 card stock and make a cone.
To do this I tied a string around a pencil, held the end of the string in one corner and used it like a compass to draw from one corner to the next to get a pie shape.
If this doesn't make sense there are tons of tutorials online... I just kinda combined a few tutorials. Or you can just buy a paper mache cone (I couldn't find any at Hobby Lobby)!
Next.
Take your pom pom trim and figure out an order of the colors. I chose to go green, aqua, red.
Start at the bottom and glue them down using your hot glue gun.
Next.
Wrap it around, gluing a few spots along the way until you meet back to where you started. Glue right next to the raw edge and trim off the excess.
Keep repeating until you are done!
