Ingredients
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Honey
- ¼ cup Olive Oil (add more if needed)
- 2 teaspoon. Fresh Orange Zest
Supplies
Instructions
Zest the orange peel.
This zester is awesome because it has a cover that measures the zest, so I know exactly how much to make.
Add sugar, honey, olive oil, and orange zest to a mixing bowl.
Stir the ingredients until the mixture is well combined.
When finished, the mixture is a bright orange color.
Pour the sugar scrub into a jar and top it with a tight-fitting lid.
Use your Orange Citrus Sugar scrub to wash your hands to make them soft and smell great.
How to Use Sugar Scrub
This sugar scrub recipe is not intended for the face but is excellent as a body or foot scrub.
To use the sugar scrub, follow these steps:
- Wet: Start by wetting the skin with warm water.
- Apply: Scoop some sugar scrub out with your finger. The amount needed depends on the amount of skin you want to clean.
- Massage: Gently massage the scrub into your skin in circular motions for a few moments. Focus on rough areas like your heels or elbows.
- Rinse: Rinse the scrub away with water and your hands.
- Pat dry: Gently pat your skin dry with a soft towel.
- Moisturize: Apply a moisturizer to lock in moisture while the skin is damp.
Sugar Scrub Tips
- Be gentle: Don't rub the scrub on the skin too hard or too long. Excessive use can irritate the skin.
- Apply to wet skin: This reduces friction and irritation.
- Use regularly: Regular exfoliation can lead to smoother and brighter skin.
Substitutions
This recipe calls for olive oil but can easily be substituted with any other carrier oil.
- Sweet Almond Oil
- Coconut Oil
- Avacado Oil
- Vitamin E Oil
Turn it into a Party
A few of my friends got together and made this scrub for gifts.
We may not have been as productive because we were laughing and being silly, but it was a perfect night!

I want that zester! I it cool or what!
Question: is this scrub something that can be used on the face or is it just for hands? I am almost out of my facial scrub and I would love to make this.
Summer Scraps
Honestly I don't know how it does for a face scrub. I have only used it on my hands and it leaves everything feeling so soft. There are no chemicals in this or anything so I would think it would be safe for the face, but I have never tried it.

I will definitely be making this scrub! The parchment paper is so cute--thanks for the heads up on it!
