A Halloween spider wreath is a fun and easy craft project with supplies from the dollar store. Learn how to make a cute Halloween spider wreath here.
I do not like spiders. They are creepy crawly and they give that tingly feeling down my spine that I do not like.
BUT, this Halloween spider wreath is so cute. I love it! 😂
Supplies You'll Need to Create this DIY Project:
- 10 inch Styrofoam Wreath Form
- Black, Purple, Orange Tulle
- Foam Core Board
- Printed Spider Image
- Black Spray Paint
- Black Glitter
- Red Cardstock
- Glue Dots
- Craft Wire
- Craft Knife
- Crop-A-Dile
- Self Healing Mat
- Scissors
Wrap the Wreath Form:
Since tulle can be a bit see-through, I wanted to cover my wreath form so you could not see the white.
To start, pin the end of the tulle onto the wreath. Then wrapped the whole thing and finish it off by pinning the loose end into the back of the wreath.
You can still see a little white on the wreath but once it is covered with more tulle
you won't be able to see the white.
Cut strips of the purple, black, and orange tulle. About 25 to 30 strips of each.
Tie each strip around the wreath and then tie the two ends in a knot.
Go around the entire wreath with the tulle.
Once you're done, go around the outer edge trimming the ends so they are all even.
Make the Spider:
Since the wreath is going to be hanging outside, I wanted the spider to be nice and sturdy.
Use the image below and either print the spider, or you could cut it out of vinyl with a Cricut. Size it so it is a little bit smaller than the hole in your wreath.
I cut the spider out with my Cricut and removable vinyl.
Adhere the spider shape to the foam core board, and cut around the shape using a craft knife.
Here you can see the back side of the foam board of my spider.
After cutting out the spider, I peeled off the vinyl and was left with my spider shape.
Spray paint the spider black, and while the paint is still wet, slide him onto another piece of paper and sprinkle with glitter.
Let the glitter/paint dry for a few minutes, dump the excess glitter onto the clean paper, and pour all of that unused glitter back into its container to use on another project.
You can seal the glitter with a clear spray, but this is completely optional. I did not do that.
Take a piece of scrap red paper and glue it behind the eyes of your spider.
Add the Spider to the Wreath:
Use the Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole into the top of the spider.
Cut a length of wire. I always cut more than I'll need, just in case.
Run the wire through the hole in the spider and then twist it back onto itself.
Wrap the other end of the wire around the top of the wreath so that the spider hangs in the center.
To make a loop to hang the wreath, cut a strip of black tulle, fold it in half, and pin the ends on the back of the wreath.
I absolutely love how this wreath turned out!

Your wreath looks awesome! Don't worry too much about the glitter. Every time I use it, it seems to fall off everywhere but whatever it's coming off of always manages to stay glitter-y.
Summer Rumsey
Thanks so much for your comment. So far the spider is staying nice and glittery.
