Tour this modern small pocket office perfect for working from home, or even a homework station. This post contains affiliate links.
My husband and I both work from home. Now my work is a little different from his. Most of his days are spent in our home office, and mine are more sporadic. I spend a lot of time moving around the house while I work. When we designed our floor plan we planned for hours on the flow of everything. We knew we both worked from home and how we both functioned best. Ultimately I just wanted a small pocket office that allowed me to shut the door if necessary. Basically, somewhere to keep my computer and a few pieces of camera equipment. Which works great when the kids are home and I need a little seclusion to get some work done.
If you don't work from home, I still think these are a great addition to a floor plan if you're designing your home because they can act as a homework space, where you do the bills, keep paperwork, etc without taking up very much of your square footage.

Creating a Pocket Office
One of the benefits of a small yet stunning pocket office is that it's not expensive to furnish, especially if you don't intend to spend a lot of time there. All I needed was a desk, somewhere to keep my camera equipment, and a desk chair.
I shared all about my standing desk here and the benefits of having one, which holds true! I absolutely love the ability to walk into my office and go straight to my computer without sitting. Sometimes I just need to look at something real quick and this keeps me on my feet moving!
Desk Area in a Pocket Office
A pocket by definition is small, so most of the space is taken up with a desk. I wanted to keep things clean, simple and organized. I have a few boxes on my desk that allow me to keep the few stray papers that I have, as well as some stamps, etc. Other than that it's really just my computers.
Home Office Gallery Wall
I chose to put a simple gallery wall above my computer to add some interest to this small space. Then I balanced it out by adding the faux tree and lamp on either side!
I even used some digital art on my laptop screensaver to accent the gallery wall!

On the left side of the desk, you will notice a small white table that I use for my printer. It has one drawer which allows some to store paper and extra printing supplies. This came in handy when I printed my gallery wall!
Having this storage cabinet is one of the most exciting things for me! It provides the perfect place for tripods, camera equipment, and just a few odds and ends I need to keep on hand for kids' homework and things like that.
Office Chair
My new chair came from FlexiSpot along with my new standing desk, and I have to say it is extremely comfortable! When I want to take a break from standing the ergonomic chair provides great relief to my back as I continue to work! If you are looking for a comfortable chair, I'd definitely recommend this one! The best part, my husband even tried it out and loves it, and he's not easy to please. He's 6'3" and has a very long torso so office chairs have never been an easy find for him. Considering this work for both of us and I'm 5'3" I'd say it's pretty accommodating!

If you’re planning your home, consider include smaller rooms that may serve as a workspace for chores like paying bills and keeping records without using up a lot of space.

Oh how I thought I could work from my couch or chair and stay motivated. What I found was my posture was terrible and I couldn't stay focused. Your inspiring pocket desk is perfect for my home as I don't have a lot of space but need a dedicated spot to write. Thank You!
