This year has been non stop since January 1st. Thinking back over everything that has happened, I'm honestly surprised I actually pulled out Fall decor of any kind this year. But I mean really... could I actually skip Fall?? NOPE. However, due to the craziness of the year I decided I would take things easy this year and not spend weeks on decorating. Now that our house is as much Fall as it's going to be I plan to enjoy trying new recipes, baking with my kids and smelling the beautiful fall scents.
This post contains affiliate links for your convenience. For today's tour I have teamed up with some amazing bloggers (links at the bottom) hosted by the beautifully talented Rachel from Maison de Pax. So let's take a step inside, don't forget your coffee, it is Fall!
Decorating for Fall was actually a little bit of a challenge this year. On top of how this year's craziness, we are currently staying in a basement apartment. The layout is just awkward and it's not super roomy. You know how gallery kitchens feel? The whole apartment is kinda like that... one big hallway.
Today let's talk about decorating even when you don't have your dream house. Because let's face it... how many of us actually have our dream houses? ; )
Part of me taking it easy this Fall includes using what I have on hand. I actually enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to make the same stuff look different year after year. Now, I will always buy white pumpkins. It's just not Fall without white pumpkins.

Are you looking for a budget friendly way to decorate for fall (other than shopping your own house)? Would you prefer that it's free? Well this year I created a set of 3 Free Fall Printables along with 35 other ladies. So no matter what your style is, we've got you covered. But in all reality, free printables are a great way to transition through the seasons without making a huge commitment to your decor. It's simple, quick and easy!
Simply placing white pumpkins all over your house pretty much does the job of preparing for Fall. There's just something timelessly beautiful about a white pumpkin right?
I do also share a love for faux pumpkins. Even though they might cost a little more than the real thing, it's a seasonal investment. Faux pumpkins can be used again and again, year after year.

Let's say hi to Emmet. : ) He crashed my photo shoot the other day. Funny thing is that I always attempt, ok fine -bribe him to sit pretty in my pictures and he never cooperates. This was the first time I tried not getting him in the shot and he sat his little fluffy butt down right there while I pushed my camera lens in his face. I guess he was worn out from barking at all the innocents walking down the sidewalk. In all fairness though everyone is sketchy until he sniffs them out! ; )
This next little space was actually a happy accident. When I pulled out all my Fall Decor I kinda piled some stuff up in the corner and I decided to leave a lot of it there. I love when that happens!

I especially love when it happens in awkward spaces you have no idea what to do with. Right next to our TV stand is that little blank corner. It's not big enough to house a chair or it sticks out into the middle of the walkway. Furniture isn't an option since it's right next to the TV stand, so usually it's just my blanket ladder, but all the cute little additions actually filled the space quite nicely.
This year our TV stand actually stood in for our "mantel". Without a mantel, or my black piano, I was kinda lost this year. That was always where I began my Fall decorating process. If you are in the same situation, don't hesitate to call any flat surface your "mantel". You are not alone friend!
Now let's take a step into our dining area. I may or may not have stolen some foliage from my neighbors for this part! It'll be our little secret!
I was actually a little surprised that there was still a bit of green left on trees. In fact I could barely find any leaves that had turned the traditional Fall colors.
I did however find a tree (in my neighbors yard) that was displaying these beautiful little berries. They remind me of mini apples, don't ya think?
Yard clippings are one of my favorite ways to decorate for the seasons. Nature is a true representation of the time of year we are drifting through. It's only fitting to bring some of that inside. And who doesn't enjoy free decorations?

Thank you so much for stopping by my home today! I hope you enjoyed this simple little tour of mine. If you need me I'll be baking pumpkin flavored desserts and making memories with my kids : ) I'm sure I won't be able to resist the urge to add a few more things as we approach Thanksgiving, but for now simplicity prevails!
I do have a few more spaces to share with you yet, and here's a little peek at what I'll be sharing tomorrow.
Now, refresh that coffee and head through the other tours!
