I do a lot of photography with my blog, and I am starting to do more videos. I don't always love what I have available for backdrops and struggle to try to find that perfect angle to hide what I don't the camera to see.
I have done some searches for backdrops, and man those can be expensive!
While shopping at my local craft store, I walked by some big rolls of paper and it hit me. "I'll make my own backdrop boards!"
These boards are super inexpensive, and the best part is they are just paper. If one gets dirty, I can tear off that layer and add a new layer. The rolls of paper come with plenty to make many boards.

Love this Katie! Where did you find the paper to make the wood background?
Katie
It is bulletin board paper. I got it at Hobby Lobby back by the framing supplies.

I watched the tutorial and you could hear the music but not anything you were saying.
Katie
Were you listening through a bluetooth speaker? That happened to me as well, but when I switched to my computer speakers you could hear me just fine. I'm not sure how to fix that, I am sorry.
Wendy
ACK! I struggle with the exact same thing! Love this post and video! Thanks for sharing.

It is a great idea for small items, I have to try it because every time I want to take a picture I struggle to find the proper thing as backdrop... Now I need to guess something for bigger pieces of furniture lol
Katie
Yeah, they won't quite work for bigger items 🙂 I'm glad you like the tutorial though! Thanks for stopping by

I made some backdrops similar to this a few weeks ago using the same foam core boards and a variety of patterned contact paper and stick-on tiles. The Husband always laughs at me when I'm trying to decide which 'kitchen' I'm going to photograph in! Definitely going to check out some fun wrapping paper options too after watching your tutorial. Thanks for sharing!
Katie
OHHHH Using stick on tiles is such a good idea too! Thanks Leslie!
