Not matter the time of year there is always some point when you hear the inevitable word from your kids: "I'm Bored". My kids are currently very "in" to card games, which I'm totally ok with! So I thought with summer coming up pretty soon I'd share some of our favorite card games that work for kids of all ages. Some are well known, and some are not so time to step out and have a little fun!
Card Games for Kids
Dutch Blitz
I honestly don't remember how we got on to this game, but I know my mom introduced us. It's a fast paced game and somebody is bound to get their hand slapped, but it's perfect for those high energy kids! If you have more than 4 people who want to play, they even have an expansion pack.
Monopoly Deal Card Game
Monopoly deal is seriously one of my favorite games to play with the kids. It's all the fun of Monopoly without the hours on end which basically result in you playing the board game by yourself while your kids sit there and watch you move money around ;). This is seriously a MUST buy!
Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza
Now I've never played this game, but I ran across it while looking for others and with 2,800+ reviews and almost a 5 star rating I think it might be worth a shot! Plus what kid wouldn't love the randomness of this card game's name!
Guess Who Card Game
Did you know Guess Who was available as a card game? This is the perfect way to take one of your favorite board games on the go to keep kids entertained while traveling or riding in the car! This is especially good for younger kids!
Clue
Just like Monopoly deal, this is another one of those board games turned card games that is far less frustrating for the parents. I love games that don't drag on and on because it keeps everyone interested, entertained, and the fighting to a minimum!
Taco vs Burrito
This is another one of those games I've never played but it has the reviews to make me want to give it a shot. The creator of this game is only 7, plus it looks pretty silly and fun! So are you team taco or team burrito?
Mancala
While not a card game per-say, it's a pretty fun game that is easily transportable! It doesn't require much space to play and can easily be used for travel. This is a great game for kids and is great for building math skills for the younger ones. It's also perfect for an older child to help a younger child if you have some age gaps!
Story Cubes
Looking to keep your kids entertained and provide some imagination as well? These story cubes are the perfect way to help your kids get creative! They roll the dice and create stories based on the picture they roll. Kids of all ages can play this game since there isn't any reading involved.
Sequence
Ok, this one is a full blown board game, but it's worth mentioning because it's so fun! It's a great family game and is really easy to learn! So if you want to add something new to your game cabinet, this is a must!
I hope these fun games will give you something to do in a little bit of your down time!
