Thanksgiving is one of the two times a year I actually set our table, the other being Christmas. I can admit that we are a paper plate kind of family, but it always excites to me to pull out real plates and feel like everything won't go crashing onto the floor. Then I wake up from my fantasy world and realize I have a 7 year old boy, 5 year old girl, and another boy who is only 2. Maybe in a few years we can whip out the fine china, but for the next couple I'll just relish in my bi-yearly bliss.
For this year's Fall Tablescape I decided that it needed to be something simple, quick, and easy to fit in with our lifestyle. I recently shared my Simple Fall Centerpiece, which was the inspiration for the rest of the place settings. The other day when I was in Walmart I ran across these gorgeous pumpkin plates and gourd plates
and just knew they would fit perfectly. I love how delicate yet rustic they are!
I paired each of the gourd and pumpkin plates with just a plain white dinner plate and these Antique Copper Chargers I also found at Walmart.
For the napkins I just folded each one into a simple rectangle and placed a leaf from our front yard topped with a piece of wheat for just a little touch of color. I love bringing natural elements into my decor and what better way to do that then with natures beauty.
Simple Farmhouse Fall Tablescape
So that's it for my Simple Farmhouse Fall Tablescape. Nothing to fancy, just a few plates and leaves to bring in a little coziness to our dining room. Do you have any traditions for decorating your table for the fall? Leave them in the comments, I'd love to know what you do!
Have a beautiful day!
