Are you designing a New Build Master Bathroom? This post shares all the details and selections for this Modern European style Bathroom!

Last week I shared the design plan for our Master Bathroom in the One Room Challenge. Today I'm going to take you on a tour of our blank canvas. This is how our New Build Master Bathroom looked the day we moved in. All we have is cabinets, hardware, and light fixtures. So let's break it down and I'll share all those details with you!

Master Bathroom Custom Cabinetry
I knew I wanted stained cabinets in here. I'm not sure why I didn't want any painted cabinets in our new build, but I stuck with that decision and I'm so happy I did. Our house has very clean lines and the wood tones bring in a natural organic feel. Especially since we don't really have an extreme amount of furniture. I opted for lots of windows and just minimal furniture placement to keep things light and airy.
We used the same wood and stain that I used in our kitchen. I will forever love this custom color on our plain-sawn white oak cabinets. The color of our cabinets is probably the most asked question. Since it was custom from our cabinet maker, there's not a whole lot I can give you, but they did send me the information they had so you might be able to take this to a cabinet maker and see if you could get it replicated. Just keep in mind that stain looks totally different on different species of wood and ours is white oak.
I did however go with a standard shaker-style cabinet door in here with flat panel drawers with as much of a full overlay as I could get without the European-style boxes. This just helped cut down on our budget and still gave me the look I wanted.
Bathroom Hardware
I stuck with black hardware in our bathroom, just like I did in the kitchen. I love the whole vibe black hardware adds to this color. It gives it that Modern European look I'm loving so much right now, but at the same time, I feel like it's just timeless! I found all our bathroom & laundry room hardware at Signature Hardware. They have such great options for a high-end look without spending an absolute fortune! Not to mention their quality is fantastic!
We used the Rodino Knobs on our vanity, and the Diehl Adjustable Pulls in our linen storage drawers over by our shower.
Marble Countertops in a Bathroom
We do have marble countertops in our kitchen which I do not regret, not even for a second. So when we were working on the layout of our countertops we had some marble left over and I decided to put it in our bathroom because I love how well it pairs with the wood. Having marble hasn't been a problem yet. It does get tiny little surface scratches, but nothing that is noticeable, and it all blends together. Marble is meant to be aged and natural so if you're not ok with embracing this I would probably suggest a more durable countertop.
Freestanding Tub
A freestanding tub was on my must-have list. I LOVE taking baths and my husband is also 6'3" so we both wanted a tub he could actually use. Admittedly our tub is not cast iron, which I love because they are so durable, but for the price point, I couldn't be happier with our tub!
Master Bathroom Lighting
We used quite a few different lighting options in our bathroom, and I still need to install a pendant over our tub. But I mainly used Aged Brass fixtures with some black accents. The sconce over our linen area has both black and aged brass, but we went with a simple black fixture in our water closet. You can shop for everything below.
Plumbing Fixtures in the Bathroom
For our plumbing fixtures, we kept the sink faucets and bathtub faucet black. I did make a last-minute decision to go with a champagne bronze color in our shower to contrast the black and white tile and tie in the aged brass light fixtures. Overall I love the pop it gave our shower and kept things interesting!
Tile Flooring
I really wanted to have a limestone look tile floor, but the budget was getting stretched at that point so I had to make some decisions. Ultimately I went with the Daltile Scripter tile in the color Hero for our bathroom. But if I would've had my way this tile from Bedrosians in a Versailles pattern is what I would've gone with! It's the look of limestone, but ceramic and absolutely gorgeous! I did order samples and it looked as good as it does online! Unfortunately, it was a little out of budget because of the pattern I wanted. I am however very happy with the tile we chose!
