I start every day off with my morning coffee. It's just how my days start. Altering this routine is a scary scary thing. When I don't have my coffee, well... it's not pretty. Let's just leave it at that ; ) But really though, in the winter it warms me up to sit down with a good cup of joe. In the springtime it has me looking out the window to enjoy seeing the grass come back to life. In summer I enjoy my cup on in the backyard while the kids play. And probably my favorite coffee drinking time of the year is fall, when I watch the leaves fall and turn into beautiful colors that match my coffee oh so well ; ) Well, we are barely into spring and the weather is starting to warm up here, and you know what that makes me want? Iced coffee! I love coffee in all shapes forms and fashions, but when it gets warmer... I like a little ice in it.
Here in this house pretty much everything is done last minute. It's our family style ; ) Something that is hard to do in the last possible second though is an iced coffee recipe. The majority of people who enjoy a cup of Iced Coffee are those who enjoy a "cold brew" which requires making it the night before, straining it, mixing it up. I know so difficult right? It's not really... but it does require some level of being prepared to make it. Honestly I prefer it that way, but when you are running out the door and want your iced coffee what do you do?? Stopping to buy a cup will quickly eat through your savings, so let's just make a quick cup at home shall we?
For this recipe I tried a new, yet now favorite type of coffee. While I was at Wal Mart I grabbed a bag of Millstone® coffee and in a desperate need of a new coffee maker, I snagged this little beauty up: Mr. Coffee® Optimal Brew™. Have you ever wondered how coffee comes about? Millstone® shares the Journey of their bean I always find it interesting to know how things work and are made!
Mr. Coffee® has always been our family's go to coffee maker brand. I actually had a model similar to this one, but it was much older. That thing lasted and lasted! These are just the best coffee makers. So this was a great choice for me. I know this will serve my coffee up for years to come! So here's the Iced Coffee Recipe to get you through that rushed morning when you just can't find the time!
Iced Coffee Recipe
Last Minute Iced Coffee
Ingredients
- Millstone® coffee of your choice
- 4 tbsp Vanilla Creamer or flavor of choice
- Ice
Instructions
- Brew your coffee double strength
- Fill a glass to the top with ice
- Add your desired amount of creamer
- Pour in your fresh brewed coffee
Notes
- This method does turn out a little more bitter than cold brew, but it is meant to get you out the door and on your way, iced coffee in hand. ; )
I hope you enjoyed this Iced Coffee Recipe! You can change it up however you like, in the fall you might enjoy a good pumpkin pie creamer, and in the winter perhaps peppermint? The choice is yours!

A caramel macchiato (sp?) for sure. I like to make mine homemade though. Starbucks is way too sweet. BTW, if you don't have a tried and true cold brew recipe, you have to check out Ree's at The Pioneer Woman. SO, SO good.
