Create your own DIY Travelers Journal Kit with these essentials! You'll have the best journal supplies and be prepared for when creativity strikes where ever you are!
Are you so stinkin' busy that you have a hard time finding time to sit and journal? This is me to a T! BUT just because my life is busy doesn't mean I don't want to remember all the little things or the small details of the big things!
That is why I created my own DIY Travelers Journal Kit. I always have downtime sitting in the passenger seat of the car, or while I'm waiting in the doctor's office. Now, I keep this journal kit with me all the time. Then, when I have 5 minutes, I can write a few things down, whether it is the day-to-day, or keeping track of that fun vacation!
Would you like to create your own Travelers Journal? I have compiled a list of the 5 essential journal supplies so you are ready for any type of journaling.

1. Journal
The journal you choose can be anything, as long as it has paper. Most stores have simple lined notebooks or you can go for the completely blank pages so you aren't limited with lines.
I created my own journal with supplies I already had using my Cricut, Foil Quill, and Zutter Binding Machine.
You can follow my tutorial if you would like to make your own! How to Make a Handmade Journal Tutorial using the Foil Quill.
2. Pens
Pens are a must and these pens are my absolute favorite. I have several cases around my house. I keep one by my computer for notes and my calendar, one in my junk drawer, and now one in my journal kit!
These pens are Triplus Fineliner Pens by Staedtler. I love that super fine point, and they have their own case. Plus, look at all of those great colors!
3. Markers
Pens are great for writing down those memories but they aren't great for coloring. If you like to get a little creative with your journaling then don't forget the markers!
These Glitter Markers from Crayola are so fun to use. The colors are so vibrant and you really can't go wrong with glitter!
4. Stickers
Just like the journal options, there are a bazillion different options for journal stickers. simply type "journal Stickers" in the search on Amazon and you can find stickers for any theme, event, or anything!
In the journal I made, I also included Free Printable Stickers Made with the Print then Cut feature with Cricut. These stickers include cute decorative stickers and journal prompts for those times I want to journal but I don't know what to journal about!
Follow the step-by-step tutorial to create your own! Free Printable Stickers with Cricut Print then Cut.
5. Washi Tape
I may be a washi tape hoarder so I didn't need to purchase any. I simply went to my washi tape bucket (yes, I have a bucket) and picked out some cute ones with coordinating colors.
BUT if you don't have a bucket of washi tape I suggest Amazon. Search the term "washi tape" and you will be in heaven with all of the colors, patterns, themes and widths.
Washi Tape can be used to tape small and light keepsakes onto journal pages, or to decorate the page itself!
6. Bag
The bag is what holds and keeps everything together! The most important thing is that the bag is large enough to hold your journal, supplies, and keepsakes you are waiting to add to your travel journal.
My bag is a large flat cosmetic bag that measures 11.5 inches by 8.5 inches. I like that it is nice a roomy without being too big to easily keep with me.
Sadly, cosmetic bag styles are changing all of the time and my exact bag is no longer available. But that also means there are always fresh new bags to choose from. Here are some great options listed on Amazon.
