September 26, 2019 By: Katie23 Comments

Turn a glass Mason Jar into a candy jar with a chalkboard label. A simple DIY craft tutorial idea perfect for parties and table centerpieces.

Have you ever used mason jars for something besides canning? Mason jars are so great to use for so many things and they are cute and simple! These cute mason jars with chalk labels were made for my Bunco night. I also made Gift Card Boxes for my prizes.

At Bunco, there are 3 tables and each table needs its own little jar of treats.

Simply punch the vinyl with the label punch to get the chalkboard labels. Paper punches are intended for paper, so some may have a problem with the thickness of the vinyl. If your punch is struggling, remove the vinyl and cut the rest of the shape out with a pair of scissors.

I took off the paper backing and stuck it to my jar making sure it was straight.

Ta-Daa! It is that easy!

My daughter helped me write on the labels.  She thought that was pretty cool!

To dress up the mason jars, I found some scraps of pom pom trim ribbon and tied them around the bottom lip of the jar.

The jars are cute empty…

But even better when they are filled with goodies!

Can these jars with the chalk board label be washed or placed in pressure cooker time after time

I would not recommend that. They are after all just a sticker, so they will come off easily.

      Thanks for the great question!
