Do you have a favorite blanket that you like to snuggle while watching TV or reading a good book? This tied fleece blanket id exactly that for me. A good friend made me one for my birthday and it quickly became my favorite snuggly blanket.

The best part is how easy they are to make! You don’t need to pull out the sewing machine, and can be made in about an hour!

Supplies Used to Make a Tied Fleece Blanket

  • Fleece Material – 2 yards each
  • Scissors

It is helpful if you have a big space to lay the fabric out. I worked on my family room floor while watching a little Netflix! layering the one on top of the other.

Lay the fabric on top of the other with the edges lined up.

Take a good pair of scissors and make slits along one side about every inch and cut about 3 to 4 inches deep.

Then simply tie the top layer to the bottom layer with a double knot.

For the corners, cut a 3 x 3 square out so the corner is pretty much missing. Then continue down the next side cutting and tieing.

After no time, you’re finished! I told you it was easy! Plus, the 2 layers of fleece make in soft and warm.

      We made fleece blankets years ago for my daughters close friends . It was fun. I truly forgot we did that. I am going to make blankets for my family. What a unique everyday gift to share with my love.
