One of my all time favorite drinks is an ice cold Coke! I mean like ALL TIME FAVORITE! I am a true Coca Cola Fan! Moving to the north where it's not such a popular drink has been hard for us! When I go to the movies, it's almost like a crime not to have a Coke with my popcorn! I may or may not have stashed one in my purse. Hey, you can't prove anything ; ) So today I am going to share a fun little treat I made for my kids after they had a hard day of helping me clean the house! Everyone needs a reward for that right? I know I certainly do! So let's all Share a Coke!

As I was walking through Wal Mart the other day I spotted these little cuties at the front of the store, so I knew I had to pick some up! They have Coke bottles with different names to choose from as part of the "Share a Coke" event, then they also have some more generic things like "friend", "Legend", and "Buddy" just to name a few. They had one that said Adam, but since he's too young for coke I might have drank that one already. Whoops! In a few years dude, in a few years!

This little guy managed to survive the car ride home and we froze him! Yes we did! This is all you need for this fun treat to cool you off on a hot summer day!

I started with my coke already chilled from being in the fridge, then I poured it into a gallon freezer size bag. Try to remove as much air as possible. Then Shake it up and put it in the freezer.

I let mine sit for about 2 hours. About ever 30 minutes or so I would go squish it with my hands to make sure it didn't form a solid block, but you really don't have to worry about this unless you are leaving it in there for a while! Once it gets to the consistency of your liking, pull it out and enjoy!

The kids had a blast eating this, and who are we kidding... so did I!

Prep Time 2 minutes mins
Cook Time 2 hours hrs

Ingredients

  • 20 oz Coke Bottle
  • 1 Gallon Freezer Bag

Instructions

  • Chill your Coke in the fridge until cold.
  • Pour into a gallon size freezer bag and remove as much air as possible.
  • Shake it up and place in the freezer.
  • Let sit for 2 hours, checking it 1 and 1.5 hours.
  • Break any pieces apart with your hands to avoid it forming a solid block.
  • Remove once desired consistency is reached.

Notes

Freezing time will vary depending on your freezer, just leave it in there until you are ready to eat it. I left our remaining amount in the freezer over night and it was still fine, it does start to get that "flat" taste when left in there for a while though.
