We are less than a week away from the official first day of Spring and we're already soaking in as much sun as we can. The weather here in Utah has been absolutely gorgeous the last few days and I'm all kinds of ready to spend my days soaking up the sun and running my feet through freshly cut blades of grass! OH how I love spring, especially since it comes right after winter!! In light of this perfect season I am joining some amazing bloggers along with Country Living Magazine and hosted by my sweet friend Rachel at Shades of Blue Interiors to share our Spring Homes with you! Here's my Modern Farmhouse Spring Home Tour! Welcome friends!!

I shared my Spring Kitchen with you last week and might've talked a little too much about how I love salads, but hey... it's the truth. Today is a little different though. We're going to talk about how using fresh Flowers for Spring can totally transform your home!
I've mentioned a few times now that simplicity has pretty much turned into my word of the year. I'm looking to make things easier, and more simple for our family. The older my kids get it seems as though the clock is ticking faster and faster and I don't want to miss their childhood! Seasonal decor is fun to change out, I admit... but it's not worth sacrificing family time.
For Spring this year I picked up a few new items from HomeGoods and snagged some fresh flowers.
A few of my favorite places to buy flowers are Costco, Trader Joe's, Sprouts, and Whole Foods. Most of these places have surprisingly affordable flowers. Every great once in a while I will stop by a florist but the prices really do go upward from the other places I mentioned.
My mom was always the best at arranging flowers. She has a love for fresh flowers and it was almost as if they spoke to her. I remember watching her all the time when I was a little girl and always thought it was just perfectly arranged! I'm not nearly as talented in that regard and that's why you see a few stems in an oversized mason jar! But it's hard to make fresh flowers look bad so I think I'm ok here!

I always try to keep my table pretty low key because I absolutely hate moving stuff out of the way for dinner. It's just not realistic! So a simple vase of flowers works perfectly in our home!
Our dog agrees! Of course how could he disagree when I let him get on the couch! ; )
In our living room I added two bouquets of tulips because tulips pretty much define spring, right?? They are just the most perfectly delicate flower that screams sunshine! It's as if they are reaching up to touch the rays of the sun! : ) Remind me to plant some in the fall ok??
You might remember this Easter Printable from last week. I love how it represents Christ's ressurection without all the bunnies and eggs! (Not that there is anything wrong with bunnies and eggs... I did just by some baby chicks after all, haha!!)
Overall in the living room the changes I made were a few pillows, lighter colored throws, fresh flowers, and a few faux flowers (like the Lavender). Mixing in the faux flowers is a little more budget friendly as they can be used time and time again... and often for multiple seasons.
But nothing can truly replace the appeal of fresh flowers!
Some of the most affordable flowers I found was baby's breath and fresh eucalyptus. They were just a couple of bucks and each bunch goes quite a ways!

Your home is beautiful, each photo was so gorgeous, made me want to go out and find some fresh flowers for display.
I would just mention that your photos are so large and your type set so small that in order to read and look at the picture I have to scroll up and down constantly. Just an FYI.

I love your house, can you tell me the name of the paint color on your walls and trim?
Katie
Thanks Lisa! I'm not actually sure of the wall color... it was already like this when we bought it. The trim color is just a flat white I believe... possible a satin. I know it's definitely not semi-gloss though. : )
