Last year was my first ever white elephant gift exchange.... I know, I know. How have I missed out on all those? They are seriously the funniest thing ever (just in case you've never done one, either). The whole point is a gag-type gift. People were giving each other junk from around their houses... Ok, it doesn't sound fun, but it is! I promise ; ). One lady brought a picture frame of some old family photos... people actually fought over it! If you have the chance to do one... definitely do it! So this year, we are doing another one, and I am officially prepared with my fake box of Gingerbread M&M's!

I grabbed a few M&M's packages and headed off to find the perfect box to create my gag gift! Let's make one, shall we! Here is what you will need...
Supplies:
Gingerbread M&M's
Adorable Box
Paper, newspaper, or something you can fill the box with and glue the candy on (I used some packing paper)
Low-temperature glue gun (a normal one might melt the chocolate, although I didn't actually try)
Tutorial:
First, just stuff some of that paper down in the box to fill it up about ⅔ of the way. Then fold some paper to a size that's just a little bit bigger than your opening of the box.
Start gluing on your M&M's with your low-temperature hot glue gun on the square piece you just folded. I dropped mine on there so it looked natural and then applied pressure until dry. You do have to work fast with the temp glue, though; it dries pretty quick. Once you have your square covered in M&M's, bend it and push it down into your box. If you see gaps or places that make it look obvious, just put some glue on a few individual pieces to fill in those gaps! And BAM, you now have a white elephant gift that is sure to trick someone...maybe, but at least they'll laugh at your attempt, hehe!

How fun!!! I love white elephant gift exchanges!! I always have several things that I've picked up over the year and that have been given to us to use for a white elephant gift exchange. Since my daughters are teenagers, all their friends have these parties at Christmas time. The stuff we get is hysterical!!
