Well we've officially had snow on the ground for a few days! Since I didn't get to decorate for Fall because of all the construction going on, I'm calling it and moving straight to Christmas. However, I know I can't forget about Thanksgiving so today I'm sharing an Easy Cranberry Holiday Centerpiece Tutorial with you that transitions beautifully from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
There's something special about friends and family gathering around a table, especially around the holidays! Let's talk about how to make a gorgeous centerpiece for all your holiday get togethers this year! For these particular vases I used the FolkArt Brushed Metal which is a water-based paint that when dry, creates a soft polished effect of brushed metal. It can be painted on both indoor as well as outdoor projects, and is formulated as an easy-to-use brush-on acrylic paint that offers superior coverage on most porous surfaces. FolkArt Brushed Metal Acrylic Paint is available in 10 on-trend colors and dries to a matte finish.

Cranberry Centerpiece
First we are going to take the unfinished wooden tray and stain it using the FolkArt Wood Tint. I love using this wood tint for craft projects because it's so easy to apply and clean up. I applied mine using a lint free rag and rubbed it on. Make sure and remove any excess quickly because it does dry fast and you don't want your overall look to be splotchy.
After the tint dried I sealed it with the FolkArt Clear Wax and let it dry.
In order to make the centerpiece pop a little I decided to paint the bottom of the vases. I used both Rose Gold and Gold in the Brushed Metal Metallic Finishes and used painter's tape to create a line, painted two coats and carefully removed the tape.
Once everything was dry I started assembling my vases. First I put a clipping from my frosted eucalyptus stem into the vase and filled it with water almost to the top (leaving room for the cranberries and candle).
Then I poured enough cranberries to make my heart happy and placed a floating candle in the center.
Now your centerpiece is ready to to be displayed and enjoyed on your dining room table!
This particular centerpiece could also very easily be used on a fireplace mantel!
Thanksgiving Centerpiece
And like I mentioned at the beginning of the post this Holiday Centerpiece easily carries over from Thanksgiving straight into Christmas because cranberries have that awesome ability to fit with both holidays! : )
