These Caprese Salad Skewers make the perfect appetizer for entertaining. This fresh and simple appetizer is perfect for both kids and adults no matter the season!

As somebody who is pretty introverted, I also love entertaining and having people over for dinner. And I usually enjoy going to dinner parties. Today I'm joining some lovely ladies and we are sharing some Appetizer Recipes with you. I know this Caprese Salad Appetizer Skewer isn't the usual winter holiday choice, but it's something you can use all year and since it's red, white, and green it clearly fits with Christmas right? But this also makes an amazing summer appetizer. I'm a big fan of multi-functional ideas 😉
How to Make a Balsamic Reduction
These are very easy to make and hardly require any cooking. The only thing you need to actually prepare is the balsamic reduction, and everything else is just assembling the appetizer.
To create a balasamic reduction, you just simply pour the balsamic vinegar into a skillet, bring it to a slight boil over medium high heat. Then reduce to a simmer until it reduces to about half the amount and becomes thicker in consistency.
How to Make Caprese Salad Skewers
For the actual skewers I tossed the cheese and tomatoes in olive oil and finely chopped basil. Then I assembled them with a toothpick in the following order, tomato, small piece of basil, mozzarella cheese ball. Once everything was assembled I drizzled the whole plate with the balsamic reduction.
I then left the remaining balsamic vinegar into a dipping cup for anyone who would like a little extra.
