Today I am going to share my vintage inspired fall decor with you! It all started with the big mirror. I had that lying around and decided I wanted to use it on top of my piano. Do you ever do that? See one thing and then decorate around it? That is usually how it goes for me. I'm a very visual person and I have to see things to be inspired!
Vintage Inspired Fall Decor
I got this piano for free. I think it's my favorite free thing to date! It just looks plain awesome! It's a little beat up, which fits perfectly with my distressed furniture, and the furniture my kids have helped me distress ; )! I am always drawn to vintage stuff so this just worked for me! I am quite excited to paint that bench a different color too! I REALLY wanted to paint the piano, but I'm kinda liking it the way it is.
The next thing that I knew I wanted to be apart of my piano decor was that metal crate! I got it from a goodwill outlet store! Have you ever heard of those? It's new here and I kinda love it! They bring everything out in these giant carts ever 27 minutes and you pay by weight, not by item! So awesome!
Everything else is just stuff I found around my house. The gold mirror is actually one of those trays meant to go on a vanity with perfumes and stuff, what are those called?
Let's talk about the mirror for a second. I kinda wanted a chalkboard, but I already had this large mirror that I was loving, so I decided to paint black stripes on the mirror. But I still wanted to be able to write on it, so I used Folkart's new Chalk Anything paint, which I have to say is kinda awesome! I'll be doodling on there soon! : ) And I am loving my Popcorn Kernel Wreath on those stripes! You can see how I made it here. I also incorporated some of the same things from last year's faux fall mantel, like my aqua mason jars, the leaves you see on the left were originally part of my wreath (you can see how I did that here). The mini pumpkin and pincone fillers are from last year as well. Pretty much everything else was from around the house or garage sale finds from this summer! The wine caddy was from last year's fall centerpiece.
I am still in love with these old aqua mason jars! They just make me happy every time I use them! So there it is. My fall Piano/mantel decor!
