Today's post is brought to you by "not really going to happen ON Easter". We can be real with each other right? I love decorating and styling photos. I like to pretend my house really looks like this all the time. But guys... my Easter lunch will NOT look like this. It will likely be filled with paper plates, spilled food, children throwing fits because they don't like vegetables, you know... things of that nature. One day though, when my kids are much much older and I'm not wiping bottoms while simultaneously cooking (washing hands of course), I will host an Easter lunch with glass plates and real napkins. But right here, right now, at this point in my life, I'll just keep on practicing and soak up the memories I have with my little ones and the things that are important to them. Maybe you are at a point in your life where you can have breakables at hand level... this post is for you ladies. It's all about having a little fun right??
I didn't say all that to be a downer, or to imply that you can't have glass plates and kids during the holidays. You definitely can. I'm just being honest about how my Easter will likely turn out, despite my inner designer desires. ; )
Today I'm not only sharing my version of this Simple, Modern Easter Tablescape, but I'm teaming up with some ladies to bring you all kinds of Easter Craft and DIY goodness hosted by my sweet sweet friend Annie, who blogs at Zevy Joy.
For this fun photo shoot I used this metal basket will 3 vases filled with baby's breath and eucalyptus that I've been using around my house. Actually most of this stuff is from around my house! The gold stainless steel wine glasses are a new find from Target though! I saw those the other day as I was aimlessly strolling through the aisles and knew I could use them for something! I added some faux succulents and placed them on either side of the vases. BAM... gorgeous little succulent planter, the faux kind!
For the place settings I used a galvanized metal charger, solid white plate, striped napkins, gray rimmed salad plate, and topped it off with my Industrial Easter Eggs from 2 years ago.
=Oh and I also used my Moss Covered Easter Eggs at the two ends of the table.
I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into our "pretend" Easter Tablescape, haha!! I promise not everything I do is just for pictures, but this may or may not be the first time I've set something up that I didn't actually use. I'm certainly not complaining though. I love my job... it's kinda like how people dress up their pets, or make all these fancy desserts... I decorate spaces. Plus I did actually leave it up for a few days! Just ask my husband, he was super annoyed he couldn't use the table, lol! Ok. I'm done with all my shenanigans. Please stop by and take a look at all the beautiful projects some of my amazing friends have created!! : )

Hello Ashley,
I love the combination of beauty and reality in this post! Your table is lovely and I really like the simplicity of it. Nothing overtakes or stands out too much. It's just a perfect combination of color and texture!
And as far as the reality, all of our lives look better on "staging" days! When my camera is out and I am taking photos I am either cleaning beforehand or moving things around creatively to hide the "not so lovely" in my house. Lol!
Have a lovely day,
Randi 🙂
