Ingredients

Cake:

  • ⅓ cup Apple Sauce
  • 1 cup Apple Juice
  • Cinnamon Bun Cake Mix
  • 3 eggs

Topping:

  • Chopped Pecans
  • Cream Cheese Frosting
  • M&M's Pecan Pie Flavor
Ingredients for apple cinnamon cake on a black countertop: Snapple Apple juice, Pillsbury Cinnamon Bun Cake Mix, Creamy Supreme Frosting, Mott's Applesauce, and Pecan Pie M&M's. A cozy, sweet combination for a flavorful cake.

I love using cake mixes because they are such time savers.

Bake the Cake

Preheat the oven to 350º F.

Prepare your cake pan per the instructions on the cake mix.

To make the cake batter, follow the instructions on the box.

Instead of 1 cup of water, add 1 cup of apple juice.  Also, instead of ½ cup oil, add ⅓ cup apple sauce.

Mixing up apple cinnamon cake batter: cake mix, applesauce, Snapple Apple, and eggs in a blue bowl, ready to create a moist, flavorful cake.

Bake according to the cake mix instructions.

While baking, my home smelled terrific!  When it was done, it came out so pretty!

Freshly baked apple cinnamon cake in a white baking dish, golden brown and perfectly risen, ready for frosting and toppings.

Let the cake completely cool before adding the icing.

This part is the longest because I just want to eat cake!

Frost the Cake

Chop the pecans and cut some of your M&M's in half.

I like adding the M&M's to the topping because they add a nice harvest color, which is perfect for this cake.

Spread the cream cheese frosting and sprinkle on the pecans and M&M's.

Our Baking Essential List

  • We use Glass Baking Dishes for baking casseroles. I especially like the dishes with lids because leftovers can be transferred straight to the fridge.
  • Silicone Kitchenware is my favorite because they don't scratch my cookware and is easy to clean!
  • A Glass Cutting Board is a must to prepare all of those ingredients. We even keep ours on our counter at all times.
  • This Knife Set will also become your favorite! The knives cut beautifully, and the hollow design prevents food from sticking to the blade.

I bet this is amazing! It looks so festive too with the fall colored M&Ms! I think I'd possibly eat all the M&Ms before they made it on the cake though, haha.
