We have officially been in our house a few weeks. Due to some setbacks with the lender we weren't able to close on time which unfortunately cut out a 2 week block where we were going to be able to work on the house without living in it. If you've ever lived in a house you are fixing up you understand how much that actually slows you down! We are pushing through though and everyone is living on the main floor while we tackle the whole upstairs and the main bathroom downstairs.
It's a dusty mess but we are making some progress. I shared a progress picture on Instagram the other day of what our bathroom currently looks like. Yikes! But I'm told it always gets worse before it gets better!
Ok, let's talk about how it's going to get better because that's the fun part!! Here's my design plan for this bathroom! I really want to find a balance of holding on to this house's natural beauty while giving it some modern conveniences! I will be partnering with Bed Bath & Beyond in a few months for the final reveal, but for now you get a peek into my bathroom design plans!
The only thing I don't really have displayed on this design board is black herringbone tile. I will be doing a tile feature somewhere, still not sure yet though! I'll just have to see as the bathroom starts coming together!

we had to renovate our upstairs bathroom after we found a leak behind the tile in the shower that ultimately rotted out the floorboards (that we found when the hot water heater went out a week after we bought the house!) We had all six of us sharing our master bathroom, so I really feel your struggle! On the bright side, we ended up with a much nicer bathroom (we had to gut the bathroom down to the studs to repair structural damage - THAT was a surprise!) that was 100% our taste vs. what the cheap fixes the prior owner had since it was a rental. Good luck, can't wait to see the finished project!

We needed to renovate our upstairs toilet once we discovered a flow behind the tile from the shower which finally rotted out the floorboards (we discovered once the hot water heater went out a week after we purchased the house!) We'd all six people discussing our master bath, so I truly feel your battle! On the flip side, we ended up with a far nicer toilet (we had to gut the toilet down to the studs to fix structural damage -- THAT was a surprise!) That has been 100 percent our preference vs. what the affordable fixes that the prior owner had because it had been a rental. Fantastic luck, can not wait to see the final job!
