Turn a candle holder into a chic succulent planter! This easy DIY adds greenery indoors with minimal effort-perfect for plant lovers who forget to water!
I love succulents. Ok, now that we have that out of the way, we can move on to why I love succulents ; )
The other day while I was roaming around Home Depot I spotted these little mini succulents. I'm fairly certain I have shared my love of anything "mini" in the past - good news... it continues on into the plant world! I am in the process of making over my living room and I love bringing anything that's alive into my decor. Things that have life bring happiness and joy into the room and remind you that there are beautiful things waiting for you on your next adventure!
Can you believe this little planter originally started out as a candle holder. I'm fairly certain it was MADE for succulents. What do you think? Let's make one together! You only need a few things.
Supplies
-Adorable mini succulents from Home Depot
- Cacutus Potting Mix
- Better Homes and Gardens Wood Block Rail Candle Holder
- Yellow Mason jar optional for another succulent planter ; ) I'll share that one at a later date!
Candle Holder Succulent Planter
The mini succulents are a little bigger than the candle holder, so I just took it out of it's little plastic pot and broke the roots loose from some of the dirt until it fit in there. I added the cactus potting soil in to fill in any gaps. I'm a little scared to say this because there is still time for it to happen, but from what I hear it's pretty hard to mess up succulents.
Now you just repeat until you have filled up your candle holder succulent planter.
It's amazing how something green can bring in such brightness and vibrant color. Even without flowers these little guys shine!
I could have taken this succulent planter all over the city to photograph. I had so much fun moving it around and focusing on the beauty in something so small!
So today, enjoy nature, enjoy life's beauties, and embrace color! It's a beautiful day no matter the weather!
