Ingredients
½cupOil
½cupSugar
½cupPopcorn Kernels
Instructions
Plug in the Stir Crazy Popcorn Maker, but do not turn it on.
Add the sugar and oil and stir to combine. I used a spoon, but you could also use a spatula.
Once the sugar mixture is well combined, turn on the popcorn maker.
Add the unpopped kernels, and place the bowl on top. I recommend leaving the lid on the bowl. Once the popcorn starts popping, hot sugar can shoot out of the holes, making a mess or burning someone nearby.
After the popcorn starts popping, it is done when the popping kernels aren't heard for three seconds.
Turn the popcorn machine off. Grabbing the handles, turn it over, and give it a light shake.
Carefully lift the machine off the bowl and set it aside.
In most cases, the popcorn can be left in the bowl to snack on, but kettle corn makes the bowl sticky. So pour the popcorn into another large bowl and sprinkle it with table salt to taste.
Notes
If you want to store kettle corn, put it in an airtight container at room temperature. It should stay fresh for about a week.If you are giving kettle corn as a gift, ensure the container is tightly sealed so it stays fresh as long as possible.
