A couple weeks ago I received a box full of goodies in the mail from Fashion Art Projects.
I was so excited to receive this package that right away I started thinking of all the things I could make and what I would do first. It really came at a perfect time because school starts in just a couple weeks. So of course, I had to make a cute custom shirt for one of my girls!
For this shirt, I grabbed a white Hanes t-shirt, 1 zip screen, the blue sparkle Zip Screen paint and the iron-on Rhinestone.
Start by removing the backing sheet off of the Zip Screen, sticking it to the shirt and applying masking tape around the edges to make sure it is good and secure. I chose to have the screen a little off center and more wrapped around the side.
The squeegee is included with the paint package and you pull/scrape the paint across the screen.
You don’t have to wait for the paint to dry, as soon as you are done painting you simply remove the tape and pull the screen carefully off of the shirt.
I let the paint dry for a little over an hour. I heat set the paint by ironing it with a cotton cloth over the paint for a couple minutes. Then I ironed on some of the rhinestones to give it a little bit more bling.
I love how it turned out!
And I think my daughter does too. She was working it when I took her outside to model for me.
This Zip Screen Printing system is very cool! It was so easy to do and very minimal mess. Plus the screens are reusable so I could make matching shirts for her older sisters using the same Zip Screen!
Next I think it is going to have to be my turn for a cute new shirt!
