Are you looking for swimming birthday party ideas? Below are tutorials for a swimsuit birthday cake topper and party invites.
My oldest daughter recently turned 10, and for her birthday, she wanted to go to the local swimming pool with her friends. This was the best idea ever because that meant I wouldn't have to come up with party games and entertain a gaggle of silly, giggling girls. I am in!!
Since the party would be held at the community pool, we weren't able to go all crazy with decorations. So we kept things pretty simple.
Supplies You'll Need to Create this Project:

- Cricut Cutting Machine
- Clothesline Swimsuits - cut file
- White Cardstock
- Patterned Paper
- Glue Stick
- Adhesive Foam Dots
- Twine
- Invited Stamp
- 2 Bamboo Skewers
Swimming Party Invites:
For the base of the invite, cut white cardstock into 4x6 rectangles.
Choose 3 coordinating pattern papers and cut the swimsuits out with your Cricut.
Place stamped "You're Invited" image onto the white cardstock invite.
String the baker's twine from the right upper corner of the card to about an inch down on the left side.
Adhere the swimsuits so it looks like they are "hanging from the line" with adhesive foam dots.
Swimsuit Cake Topper:
For the cake topper, you will need 2 bamboo skewers, bakers twine, and more swimsuit cutouts using your Cricut. Although this time you will want two cutouts per swimsuit.
Tip: When in the Cricut Design Space make sure to mirror the second image so they fit together perfectly. I did not do this and the two pieces don't match like I would have liked.
Tie a piece of baker's twine between the two skewer sticks.
Glue the 2 wrong sides together with the twine in between and towards the top so it looks like the swimsuits are hanging.
It already looks cute and it isn't even on the cake yet!
Place the two skewers into the cake letting the "clothesline" sage just a little.
Also, make sure you place any candles away from the hanging swimsuits. They are just made of paper so they are flammable.
My daughter loved her swimming birthday party, and after all, that is the most important part.
