Today we are partnering up with Target in celebration of their #MyKindOfHoliday campaign to share some great Thanksgiving Traditions with you! If you are a regular reader of Cherished Bliss, you know that I live across the country from my entire family! It is definitely hardest around the holidays. Not only do we wish we could be near everyone for the fun, festivities, and food it is hard on my kids. They are young and they just don't get it sometimes! But to brighten up the mood we have started a few traditions with our kids to help me the holidays a little more fun!
We started out last year with our DIY Thankful board. Each of us wrote something that we were thankful for each day until Thanksgiving and put them in the envelopes. Then at Thanksgiving we all sat down and read them as a family!
On Thanksgiving Day, we have the kids help cook as much of the food as a 5 and 3 year old can do : ) I think their favorite thing last year was watching the fresh cranberries pop while we made our Homemade Cranberry Sauce.
We also go get our Christmas Tree the day after Thanksgiving! Last year was our first winter in Wisconsin and it was FREEZING when we went! But so worth it!
I recently did a Fall Tablescape for a Virtual Family Dinner Part we had. So I think this virtual party might have to become a new Thanksgiving Tradition this year!
I'm fairly certain I will be heading to Target this year to get some new decor for Thanksgiving. It's never to early for Addison to learn some decorating skills! Take a look at what they have for Thanksgiving Table Decor this year!
This Cheese Tray would not only be great for Thanksgiving, but so useful throughout the year!
These platters would go great with any place setting you already have! I am dying over that giant white one! Beautifully displayed turkey anyone?!
All that's left now is the actual food! If you are looking for some great recipes, we are already gearing up for the holiday!
Chicken and Cornbread Dressing
Sauteed Green Beans with Toasted Almonds
Cheesy Garlic and Herb Mashed Potatoes
Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes
Do you have any traditions or favorite recipes for Thanksgiving? Share them in the comments below, I would love to know what you do!

We typically spend Thanksgiving with my husband's family. This year is no different except this time we'll be celebrating it at our house. Every year I make this Chorizo, Manchego cheese, and Date stuffing that everyone loves. http://ourlittlefamilyadventure.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/untraditional-thanksgiving-stuffing-chorizo-manchego-and-date-stuffing/

We have several Thanksgiving traditions: watching the Macy's Day Parade, my grandmother's sweet potato pie, and before our dinner, we all tell each other what things we are thankful for throughout the year. Also, at night, we make hot chocolate with marshmallows and watch White Christmas (Bing Crosby) to usher in the the Christmas season. Can't wait!!
