This Sunday is Mother's Day. Wow time flies doesn't it? Well... if you are still searching for that special Mother's Day Gift for your mom or grandma, this is a super fun and easy kid craft that every mom, grandma, aunt, or sister would just LOVE!
My kids had so much fun making these. Aubrey did almost everything himself! I always love pulling out papers and ribbons and just letting them pick whatever they want! I have to admit, it's a little hard for the crafter in me, but I love watching my kids create! Aubrey's is the yellow one, he wanted big circles on his. Addison's is the turquoise one and she of course had to have some kind of pink on there! Each book is filled with their drawings. : ) So sweet!
To make these you just need a few simple supplies:
-Cardstock or thick paper
- Paper for kids to draw on
- Hold Punch
- PSA Stamps
- Thread for binding (I used a small strip of fabric)
- Scissors or paper cutter
- Tutorial on how to score cardstock
Tutorial: Mother's Day Gift
First thing, cut your consturction paper for your kids to draw on in half so you have 2 rectangles. Cut out as many as you want, I think I had 7 or 8 sheets I let them draw on. Then punch holes along the top of your paper. You can go either horizontally of vertically, its up to you.
Then I cut out a front and back cover out of cardstock. I used the holes I already punched out on the construction paper as a guide on where to punch holes on the covers.
Now before you bind it you are going to want to score your cardstock just below your holes so that when you flip through it doesn't tear the paper. Then line up all your papers and I threaded a thing strip of fabric through all the holes in a continuous circle type motion. Tie it off on each end and you are done!
Now you just have to let your kids decorate the front! I let them pick out whatever they wanted. Aubrey chose some green ribbon I had because it looked like spiderwebs, ofcourse! lol, why else?
We also used our PSA Stamps to stamp on a "Happy Mother's Day" on the front. Aubrey did his on circles and I helped Addison do hers on her pink paper : )
For more ideas on what you can do with PSA Stamps, don't forget to check out their blog, and follow along their facebook (you never know what deals they might have!).
Now you have cute little books of special drawings to give to that wonderful Mom in your life! My kids are so excited to put theirs in the mail!
