Our family just loves the new Lego movie! It is so fun and the song Everything is Awesome is just so catchy! My kids have also always loved playing with Legos. When we saw the movie and I saw how much fun the kids had singing the song I knew I wanted to create some things that used the phrase "Everything is Awesome". Another thing my kids just love to do is go through the library and I personally think books are Awesome. We needed a book bag to help us carry out the many books. So when I received the Lego pack of heat transfer vinyl from Expressions Vinyl to use in a blog post I knew exactly what I wanted to make!
Let me show you how easy it is to make this Lego Library Book Bag
Lego Library Book Bag
With the new Cricut machine you can do other fonts - not just what is in their store. So I went online I searched for Lego Font and found several. I want one that looked like the official lego font so I chose Legothick. It also has one lego guy on the font that I was able to use for my bag as well.
I have shared previously on how to do Iron On Vinyl in my Sweet Heart TShirt post s0 you could hop over there and check out that post to see how to use Iron on Vinyl. One important thing to remember is to mirror your words in your cutting software before you cut the vinyl.
I cut "Everything is Awesome" in the Yellow, green and red iron on vinyl. I then cut my 2 lego guys out in the blue vinyl. I placed them on my bag and Ironed them per the instructions. Then I let it cool and carefully took off the plastic. If the vinyl didn't stay on in a spot I ironed again. It was super simple and easy to do!
Creating this library bag was really fun and easy to do! Both my sons and daughter like it - and all of them love toting around the bag in the library. Plus they now know where to put their books when they are done reading them!
