I received a free Jord watch in exchange for this post. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.
How to gift wrap for the man in your life will help you personalize packaging in a masculine way. I wrapped a Wooden Watch by Jord and my husband loved it!
Father’s Day is just around the corner, but I am not doing this post only for Father’s Day. There are other times of the year when I want to give a gift to my dear sweet husband. There is his birthday, Christmas, our anniversary and my favorite, the just because I love you gift. Coming up with a masculine gift wrap idea can be difficult because most gift wrappings are frilly and froo froo, and usually just downright childish. This year I am going to put a little extra thought into my packing and make it special for that man in my life.
First let’s start with the gift! He is getting this gorgeous Wooden Watch by Jord. Paul (that’s my hubby) loves watches and has several. BUT he doesn’t have a wood watch so I know he is going to love it!
One of Paul’s favorite past times is fishing. He loves it and goes every weekend our busy family doesn’t have plans. So to personalize this gift I wanted to go with a fishing theme. Paul is also a no fuss type of guy so I wanted to keep the packaging very simple. Which works great for you because that means you can easily duplicate it.
I used a black gift box, a piece of blue ribbon and a fishing lure. Yup, you read that right, it’s a fishing lure!
The first thing I needed to do was cover the hook of the lure. I didn’t want to damage the lure because I wanted Paul to be able to use it after. But I also didn’t want it to get caught in anyone’s hand before he took it fishing. My solution; a bead and a glue dot.
I carefully wrapped the glue dot around the pokey end of the hook and then slid the bead over the tip. When he is ready to use the lure he can take the bead off and easily remove the glue dot. It worked like a charm.
I wrapped the piece of ribbon around the box once, tied a simple knot, and clipped the ends of the ribbon to give them a nice finish.
With a short piece of wire, I pushed it through the center of the knot and through the loop on the lure. Twisted the wire shut, trimmed and folded it back to hide from view.
And that was it, and my totally awesome and personalized gift is wrapped and ready to go.
While personalizing it is fun, my favorite part is when we actually give him his present.
He actually acted like he had been caught by the lure! That is why I love this man, he is such a fun guy and isn’t afraid to be a little silly.
That final moment of opening his gift has come!
Yay, it’s a hit! He loves it! Bonus points for me!
This is a good looking watch in the box, but it looks amazing on! I love how the wood gives the band such a unique look, and the weight of the watch is actually much lighter than I thought it would be. Paul put the watch on, and for the rest of the day, I caught him glancing at it several times, and not just to see what time it was. That’s how I know he loved it because he couldn’t stop looking at it.
Later we had a little fun modeling his new watch, all the while with a big smile on his face.
Every time Paul wears this watch now he will think of me, his super amazing wife that loves him so much, and that is exactly what I want him to think!
You really should go to the Jord Website. They have lots of different styles of watches. Of course, there are woman’s watches too! After you visit their website come back here and leave me a comment telling me which one is your favorite!
