Dress up in a Green M&M Halloween Costume! This is a woman’s DIY costume but can easily be adapted for any adult or child.

How to Make a Green M&M Halloween Costume featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker

Do you love to dress up for Halloween? I usually take a backseat and simply watch, but this year I mixed things up and made my own costume.

But don’t worry, this DIY costume is super simple to make and came to together very quickly.

Green M&M Halloween Costume Tutorial

To begin, let’s take a look at what the Green M&M looks like. I choose the green one because she is sassy and is one of the two female M&M characters.

How to Make a Green M&M Halloween Costume featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker

See isn’t she cute!

The only part of the costume we need to DIY is to add the white M to the front of the green nightshirt.

M&M Cut File

For the M cut file, I went to Etsy and found this cut file that would work perfectly! M&M Faces and Letter “M”

How to Make a Green M&M Halloween Costume featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker

Once the file is purchased, upload the SVG file into Cricut Design Space. Ungroup the design, and delete all of the pieces except for the M.

Size the M according to what the M will be applied on and how big you want it to be. For my M, I made it about as big as I could with a width of 11 inches.

Cutting the M out of Iron-on Vinyl

Lay the sheet of White Iron-on Vinyl onto the standard grip map with the shiny side up.

How to Make a Green M&M Halloween Costume featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker

Make sure to Mirror the image before you cut.

Follow the prompts in Cricut Design Space to cut the image.

Once cut, remove the Iron-on from the mat and weed the excess material so you are only left with the M.

Applying the Iron-On Vinyl for your Green M&M Costume

To know exactly what temperature and time to set your EasyPress 2, visit the online Cricut EasyPress Interactive Quick Reference Guide. Enter the Heat-Transfer Material and the Base Material and the guide gives you all the information you need. It even tells you if you should peel the backing while the material is still warm or if you should let it cool!

Lay the shirt on top of the Easy Press Mat, and iron the shirt to remove any wrinkles.

Place design down with the liner side up.

Apply the heat press for the specified time.

How to Make a Green M&M Halloween Costume featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker

My fabric specified a warm peel, so I let the vinyl partially cool, for only 30 seconds or so. Then carefully pulled back the clear liner sheet.

It worked like a charm!

Dressing up in your the Green M&M Costume

Now that everything is made, all that is left is to put it all on!

I seriously love how comfy the shirt/dress is, and since I am a sock lover anyways this get-up is totally my style.

But my most favorite part of the costume is the lipstick. When else do you get to wear green lipstick?

Learn how to make Mini Pallet Coasters with popsicle sticks and a wood dowel. Great for rustic decor, or a handmade gift!

How to Make Mini Pallet Coasters with Popsicle Sticks, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Why is it that all things mini are so cute? I have worked in a warehouse and I would never say a pallet is cute. But when it is mini I can’t but say “awwwww!”.

These cut mini pallet coasters really are so stinkin’ cute and I can’t wait to show you how I made them!

Cutting the Wood for your Mini Pallet Coasters

The first step is cutting the wood pieces down to size. My coasters are 3 1/2 inches square. Most coasters measure 4 inches square but I decided to go a bit smaller since my coasters have some thickness to them, and I wanted to keep my mini pallets mini.

I cut the dowel first into three lengths. Each 3 1/2 inches long. You don’t have to get out the saw for this thing of a dowel, a razor blade will work too. I just don’t get to use my little saw often enough. 🙂

Then, using a pair of heavy-duty scissors, cut the jumbo popsicle sticks into lengths of 3 1/2 inches as well.

How to Make Mini Pallet Coasters with Popsicle Sticks, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Popsicle sticks actually cut fairly easily and that surprised me.

Distress Dying the Wood Sticks (optional step)

I want these mini pallets to actually lool like pallets, and if you’ve ever worked with pallets you know they rarely look nice and clean. The wood is discolored and often stained.

To give my pallets the same look, I dipped them in an ink and isopropyl alcohol mixture.

In a flat-bottom dish add just a little bit of water to cover the bottom of the dish. Add twice as much isopropyl alcohol as water, and several drops of brown ink and yellow ink. The ink I used is from an inker drop bottle meant for reinking stamp pads or watercoloring with.

How to Make Mini Pallet Coasters with Popsicle Sticks, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Add the wood sticks and give the mixture a stir. The longer you leave the wood in, the more coloring they will get. You can also redip if you decide they didn’t get enough color as they dry. But of course, you can’t take color away.

How to Make Mini Pallet Coasters with Popsicle Sticks, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Set the wood sticks aside on a towel to dry. The wood must be completely dry to assemble the coasters. If you are impatient like me, you can put the wood sticks on a baking sheet and put them in the oven at 350 degrees for a couple minutes to help speed up the drying. But keep your eye on them because they can still burn and change more colors while in the oven.

Don’t the wood pieces look great already?!

Assembling your Mini Pallet Coasters

For one pallet you will need 3, square dowel pieces and 8 jumbo popsicle stick pieces all cut to 3 1/2 inches.

I placed a gridded cutting mat on my work surface to help me keep the pallets nice and square as I was assembling.

Start with one square dowel and 1 popsicle stick. Put a dot of hot glue at the top and adhere the popsicle stick at a 90-degree angle.

How to Make Mini Pallet Coasters with Popsicle Sticks, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Add a second popsicle stick at the bottom of the first square dowel, also at a 90-degree angle.

How to Make Mini Pallet Coasters with Popsicle Sticks, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Take a second square dowel length and glue to the other end of the two popsicle sticks.

Then glue the third square dowel in the middle, between the other two square dowels.

How to Make Mini Pallet Coasters with Popsicle Sticks, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Turn the pallet over so the square dowels are on the underside of the pallet. Glue two popsicle stick slabs into place in between the two outer slabs.

Turn the pallet over and glue the other 4 popsicle stick slabs into place, spacing them out just a bit.

And that’s it! You have made super cute little mini pallet coasters!

Adding Text to your Mini Pallet Coasters (Optional Step)

The coasters are so cute and handy as is, but I wanted to step them up just a bit further.

Using a Cricut and some vinyl, I cut out these little word stencils. Click here if you’d like to use my file from Cricut Design Space.

How to Make Mini Pallet Coasters with Popsicle Sticks, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Apply the stencils like you would a sticker. Simply peel and apply to the pallet coaster.

Using a paint sponge and pick up a little bit of paint. You really don’t need a lot, just the very edge of the paint sponge. Dab the sponge over the stencil until you have it covered with paint.

Carefully remove the vinyl stencil and your text magically appears!

This extra step really does add that wow factor. I can’t get over how cute they turned out!!

Arrow Leather Bracelet File in Cricut Design Space

This file was made to fit my wrists so you may need to make some alterations for it to fit your wrist.

How to Make a DIY Arrow Leather Bracelet with the Cricut Explore Air 2, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Begin by using a tape measure and measuring the diameter of your wrist.

To edit the length of the design, click on the padlock to unlock dimensions. Type the Width so it is 2 3/4 inches longer than your actual diameter. Do not change the Height.

How to Make a DIY Arrow Leather Bracelet with the Cricut Explore Air 2, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Once the design is sized appropriately for your wrist, prep the leather to cut on your Cricut Explore Air 2.

Prepping the Leather to Cut your Bracelet

The most important trick to cutting leather on the Cricut Explore is to back the leather with transfer tape. Usually, transfer tape is used to move vinyl to keep it from stretching. But with the leather, it helps firm it up and keep the material from moving. It also saves your mat because you won’t leave leather fiber residues when you remove it from the mat. It’s a win-win!

For the arrow bracelet, I used a scrap of leather that is about 11 by 3 inches. Cut a piece of transfer tape that is just a bit larger so 11.5 x 3.5 inches.

I love that transfer tape has a grid printed on it! It makes it so easy to trim it to the perfect size!

Apply the strip of leather onto the strip of transfer tape with the back of the leather touching the sticky side of the transfer tape.

Then lay the leather and transfer tape to the top of the heavy grip mat.

Cut the Arrow Leather Bracelet

Turn the material setting knob to custom. When you click on “Make It” in design space you will be prompted to select your material from a drop-down menu. There are a couple different options for leather, select the one that is closest to the type and thickness you are using.

Also, make sure you have the Deep Point Blade inserted into your machine and selected as the blade you are using in Cricut Design Space.

How to Make a DIY Arrow Leather Bracelet with the Cricut Explore Air 2, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Since this is a simple design it cuts out pretty quickly with just a couple passes with the deep point blade.

Once cut, remove from the mat and peel off the transfer sheet backing. Leather can stretch and tear so make sure you aren’t too rough with it.

Turning the Leather Arrow into a Bracelet

Wrap the bracelet around your wrist to get an idea of where to want to cut the slit. Make a mental note of where the arrow hits on the tail.

On the backside of the leather mark two dots with a pen to mark where to cut the slit.

Use a craft knife and a ruler to cut the slit. It should be just barely wider than the middle part of the arrow.

The tricky part is putting the bracelet on by yourself. I may have used my teeth to help pull it through. Wrap the bracelet around your wrist and poke the arrow part through the top of the slit.

Back to school is an exciting time whether you are just starting out in Pre-K or you’re in the last year of college! The anticipation of what is coming and the excitement to be done!

No matter what grade you are going into, it is certain that you will need a great printer to get you through. Whether it is printing off the supplies list for the field trip, that 10-page report (single spaced), or creating a little thank you gift for your favorite teacher, you will need a hassle-free printer that lets you print wirelessly from any device!

That is where the HP Deskjet 2636 All-in-One Printer comes in!

HP Deskjet 2636 All-in-One Printer: NEW Limited Edition Walmart Exclusive Printer

I seriously love this printer! My last printer didn’t have wireless capability, which meant every time I needed to print I had to be connected to my printer with a cable, and it was SUCH A PAIN!

With this printer, you can wirelessly print, copy and scan from a computer or mobile device! There is an HP Smart App that helps you manage all of your printing tasks on the go. It really is smart!

Plus, the creative side of me loves that it comes in 3 different colors so you can easily match your office, dorm room, or in my case craft studio.

The available colors are GelatoDark Sienna, or the color I chose, Atlantic Blue
You can even purchase an HP Original Ink Combo Pack that includes a color cartridge and a black cartridge so you will be ready for any type of printing. With the Original HP high-yield ink cartridges you can print up to twice as many pages.

Cut the design out with a pair of scissors. You don’t need to cut out the notch now, so just cut straight across the top.

Place the cutout face down and fold the tabs in along the dotted line.

Rub folds with a bone folder for a nice crisp fold.

After both tabs are folded in, apply glue to just the tabs. If glue gets in the center then the gift card won’t be able to slide in.

Fold the cardholder in half so the two outer edges meet and align perfectly.

Go over the folded edge with a bone folder, and then around the glued edges as well.

This is when you want to cut the notch out of the top so the cut out notch will be the same for both sides of the envelope.

How to Make a Nerf Style Pool Noodle Launcher

To begin, cut the pool noodle into a 4-inch long piece.

How to Make a Nerf Style Pool Noodle Launcher, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker

The styrofoam of the pool noodle cuts really easy, all you need is a pair of scissors.

Next, take a deflated 12-inch balloon and carefully cut of just the tip.

How to Make a Nerf Style Pool Noodle Launcher, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker

Tie a knot on the end you normally tie a knot on. You know the side where you would blow the balloon up.

Then Slide the cut open end of the balloon over the cut end of pool noodle.

How to Make a Nerf Style Pool Noodle Launcher, a tutorial featured by top US craft blog, The Crafty Blog Stalker

The knot on the balloon should be right over the hole in the pool noodle.

Cut a long strip of duck tape and wrap around the launcher. The tape should be half on the balloon and half on the pool noodle.

And that is it! Your pool noodle launcher is ready!!

What to Shoot in a Pool Noodle Launcher?

Now comes the fun part. Shooting things out of the launcher.

My favorite are pom poms. I bought a bag of pom poms in assorted sizes. I found the smaller pom poms to shoot the best. The larger ones tended to get jammed in the pool noodle hole.

Marshmallows also work great. Just make sure they are soft marshmallows so they don’t hurt.

What would you shoot out of your pool noodle launcher? The best things are small and light. Share and let me know in the comments!

And it helps if you pull faces when aiming too. Trust me!
