Faux Chenille Blanket by Grandma

January 24, 2019 By: Katie13 Comments

Grandma made a very special gift for my youngest daughter, a faux chenille blanket.
A very soft and beautiful quilt that she will cherish.

When my oldest sister had her first baby my mom started a trend. She began making baby quilts for all of her grandchildren. Isn’t that a fun tradition? Did I mention she has 7 kids, and that has turned into 31 grandkids!

It is no surprise that she got a little behind, but she was still committed to finishing what she started. She is such a great Grandma!

My youngest daughter was one of the last born and the only one of my kids that hadn’t gotten her special blanket yet. My mom had talked to me about what she might like, but she actually got the idea for the this Faux Chenille Blanket from my Weekly Linky Party! I love that!

A Girl and a Glue Gun has a great tutorial that is very easy to follow if you want to make your own The idea came from this Faux Chenille Blanket.

While my mom was working on the quilt, a couple of my sisters and she got together for a fun craft/sewing day so I even got a couple of pictures of my mom making it!

Usually, my mom pieces the quilts together, so this was a fun change and it was fun to be able to witness the progress of the blanket.

My mom did a fabulous job and I know my daughter thinks so too. She was thrilled when Grandma gave it to her!

Never give your child more than a blanket at a time and be sure they use the cover is wide and long enough to be hiding under the crib mattress.
