- 3 Chain Necklaces in Yellow, Turquoise, and Hot Pink
- 5mm Jump Rings
- Earring Hooks
- 2 Pairs of Jewelry Pliers
How to Use Jewelry Needle Nose Pliers:
Before we begin I want to share a quick lesson that is essential to jewelry making, the correct way to open links and jump rings.
When opening links and jump rings it is important to have two pairs of jewelry pliers, one pair for each hand.
Grab the link with one pair of pliers and make sure that the opening is facing up.
Grab the link with the other pair of pliers so you now have pliers on each side of the opening.
The instinct is to pull the ring apart to open, but when you pull that link open you are also changing the shape, making it more difficult to close the ring again.
The correct way is to twist your wrists in opposite directions. This allows the ring to stay in its shape. To close, you simply twist your wrists in opposite directions to bring the ends together again.
You'll notice after opening and closing using the correct method, you can hardly tell the ring has been tampered with at all.
Removing the Links:
Since we are making a pair of earrings we will be doing everything in doubles so the earrings are the same.
To remove the links, count up the number of links and then open the last link using the method above.
Remove the counted links from the chain, and close that opened link.
Remove 10 links of yellow, 11 links of hot pink, and 12 links of turquoise for each earring.
If you would like you can do more or fewer links for longer or shorter earrings.
Assembly:
Open a 5mm jump ring.
Onto the ring place the yellow, turquoise, and hot pink strands of chain. The jump ring will go through the top link of each strand.
Put the loop of the earring onto the open jump ring.
Using 2 pairs of pliers again, twist your wrists to close the jump ring.
Repeat for the other earring.
They turned out super cute, don't you think? And they took all of 5 minutes to make!

These earrings are lovely but I would have had to buy 2 so I could keep the necklace as well! (I kind of like it)
