It's no surprise that I have little munchkins running around my house. With the first one I was so confused, I had no idea what to get and I scoured the internet looking for everything I need. I way over prepared. I could have ran a whole day care of what I thought I needed for my 1 child! The second one you learn a little something and you probably only get enough stuff for 3 kids ; ). With the last one I really narrowed it down to exactly what I needed. I probably under prepared if anything. So in all that I have learned I am going to share a 4 of the absolute MUST haves. You will probably need lots more stuff, but these were essential to me!
So let's take a look at what these things did for me : )
1. The Levana Oma+ Movement Monitor. I wish I had this with my other two children. It is such a unique monitor, and Levana exclusively manufactures baby monitors, which allows them to focus wholly on perfecting these monitors. The Oma+ Movement Monitor is very small and is meant to clip right onto your baby's diaper leaving it hardly noticeable by the baby. It is also digital and wireless, eliminating the risk of cord strangulation. And just to be sure this is exactly what parents are looking for Levana asks real moms, and then develop solutions to meet these needs. These are currently available in the US at buybuy Baby.
The design of this monitor allows the sensor to gently vibrate encouraging the return of regular movement after 15 seconds of complete stillness from your baby. If after 20 seconds there is still no movement, a loud beeping with alert you! You can know sit on the couch in peace knowing you don't have to go check on your sleeping angel every 30 seconds ; ) You can find out more about their great products from their facebook page. You can also check out this video, it explains it perfectly!
2. The Blooming Bath. This will save you your back plain and simple. No more bending over in the bathroom holding your baby up with your knees digging into the hard floor. Plus how cute is a baby sitting on a little flower in the sink. Cute pictures anyone?
3. The Boppy Pillow. I can.not.stress.this.enough. I breastfed all my chidlren and this was a life saver. My first wouldn't nurse without it, I had to carry that thing everywhere with me! It's especially great in the hospital when you are recovering and extremely sore! I had a c section with my last two, and it really helped keep the pressure off my stomach! Plus this little pillows are great for tummy time, and when they are learning to sit up! Love love LOVE my boppy pillow!
4. Sit and Stand Stroller. This really only applies if you have more than one child, but knowing how much I love it, I would have totally got this for my first just because I'd know I'd want it for my next. It allows you to put the car seat on the front, and your toddler can sit or stand in the back. Complete genius! We have been noted to put our 6 year old and 3 year old on the back. Plus when you go out with just the baby you have a great place to dig through your diaper bag ; )

All newborns should have access to the critical medical attention they need in the initial days following delivery.

What is also essential is his first companion doll. When they reach a certain age, they love to bring their dolls and any other inanimate objects in front of them to life. Puppets are perfect for it.
