My best tips on how to plan the perfect Disneyland vacation. Create family memories you will never forget at the happiest place on earth!
What’s the best destination for summer vacation? Disneyland, of course! Summer is creeping up on us and before we know it we are going to be more than ready for a vacation. I’m here to give you my best tips on how to plan your trip, including before you visit and while you are in the park.
BEFORE THE PARK:
Book with Get Away Today
My first tip is to book with Get Away Today. They are experts in all things Disney and have the best prices for Disneyland packages and discount Disneyland tickets. Not only are they all-Disney-knowing, their customer service is out of this world! Their agents are super nice and totally willing to help and answer any questions you might have when booking your trip. Plus, if you use promo code BlogStalker, you can get an additional $10 off your Southern California vacation package.
Buy Souvenirs Ahead of Time
Buying your souvenirs ahead of time will save you loads of money when you get into the park, especially if you have little kids. Those princess dresses and autograph books definitely aren’t cheap at the park, so stop by Target, Wal-Mart or even the dollar store to pick up some goodies for your little ones so they don’t feel like they are missing out at the park. There are a lot of fun options for surprising your kids with these as well. You could surprise them with the souvenirs when announcing the fun trip, they could be prizes for a long car ride or morning gifts at the park, the possibilities are endless!
Get Away Today also sells princess dresses so you can buy one at the same time as your vacation!
AT THE PARK:
Use the FASTPASS System
Fastpasses are the best way to beat the crowds at the park, peak season or not. Some of your favorite rides will offer a Fastpass and all you have to do to skip the majority of the line is go to the Fastpass kiosk for that ride, get a ticket and come back at the specified time- it’s that easy! It’s also totally worth it, especially since you can hit other great rides and shows while waiting for your return time.
Don’t Just Focus on the Rides
I know, I know, the rides are the best! But hear me out on this one- take the time to watch the parades and shows or find some new favorite foods. We all know how incredible the rides are at Disneyland, but the shows and parades are just as great. Some of the top shows are Frozen Live at the Hyperion, World of Color, the Main Street Electrical Parade, Fantasmic! (re-opening this summer), or any daytime parades.
It is definitely recommended to hit as many shows as you can, and if that means a longer length ticket (5 days for the price of a 4-day ticket, say what?) then so be it. Who has ever complained about a few extra days in the Happiest place on Earth?
Once you’ve picked your show to watch, grab one of Disneyland’s famous snacks to eat while watching. You can’t go wrong with anything you pick, from beignets to churros paired with a Dolewhip or Mickey ice cream bar, it’s sure to make your experience even sweeter!
You’ve got your Fastpass and ready to hit the parade… wait, there isn’t a parade right now? What do you do? Everything else Disney has to offer, of course! Whether that is Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, meeting your favorite character and getting their autograph or listening to The Dapper Dans sing their hearts out, there is plenty to do to with a spare hour. Disneyland offers so many activates to entertain your family all day long!
Disneyland is a perfect summer vacation for anyone to go on, and Get Away Today can help you plan it! With their discount Disneyland tickets included in their Disneyland packages, you really can’t go wrong. Their agents are ready to help you book so call 855-GET-AWAY or visit online at getawaytoday.com and don’t forget to use promo code BlogStalker to get an additional $10 off your Southern California vacation package!
